Glad someone brought that point up. I wasn't sure, so didn't say anything.![]()
Yeah it was originally on The Idiot.

Not to be a prick but you guys know Iggy Pop wrote that song, right?![]()
Yeah, and I never liked it much either...Apart from a handful, I never thought all that much of Uncle Iggy's tunesmithing...
Thanks for the feedback FF. I'm now pretty happy with the drums and drumming, although I haven't reposted the latest yet - I reallly need to step away from it for a few days and recalibrate.. I actually straightened it out a lot in terms of snare... there was all sorts of stuff going on there at the start which made it real swingy, but I'm happy with what's remaining (which is what you're hearing... I've just worked on the tone a lot...)
Cheers
Yeah I'm mostly lukewarm with Iggy myself.
Re the drums, I know I'm probably over-advising here or something, but I thought the song could be served by having the drums not come in until 1:20, but it sounds like you know what you want here so I'll shut my trap.![]()
Iggy's version was way better than Bowie's.
It was about the last decent Iggy sonmg too.
Too much Loco Mosquito and not enough Now I Wanna Be You Dog for the most part from about 87 on.
Panda Girl is a terrific phrase in a terrific song.
!WoW! David - You are the Messiah.
Great work here. Now you can go under the name of The Jongleur.
How is that threesome going ... giving guitar lessons to those ladies from work?
Listened again, just cuz I like the tune a lot. Listen to the level of the kit, and then compare it to the L/R guitars that come in during the intro. There's a pretty big difference in levels. You want that? (I'd probably be turning the guitars down 1.5 and the kit up 1.5.) Great tune.
Hey, thanks Rob. Funny thing is, I don't know that I've ever even heard a CSNY song, although obviously I know who they are.. they weren't big in Australia.
Hmm... I'll check out the fill at 0.20 - I've just done another mix (although I haven't put it up yet) to discover on my home stereo that I've just overcooked the snare a little... burning lots of CD coasters on this one. Sigh. Back to the desk...
The only other version of this song was a couple of years back and a very crappy recording, but yes, featuring the other dude. Where did you find the link?
Thanks for listening...
LOL.. never say "final mix"! Yeah, I hear ya... it sort of depends what I'm listening on... here at work on the work laptop/phones, I agree. At home on the stereo, not so much. In the car, possibly.
Yeah, I think it's the layering of both the harmonies and the guitars that makes me think of CSNY. Deja Vu is a good record if you do ever check them out.
The link to your previous edition was just at the bottom of this page under 'similar threads'
The car is God.
Thumbs up for both the performance, song and mix.I like it. Catchy tune.
