Scarlett 2i2 and AT2020 Problems

Just bought a Scarlett 2i2 preamp and Audio-Technica AT2020 xlr mic. I can't get the mic to record, its recognized in Live but i every time i record and playback its just a bunch of static noise. Is there something i have do to get the preamp and the computer to recognize the mic?
