You don't think much of it till you see them starting to sign.
They are at shows every so often and always stand right in front of the PA stacks to be sure and feel the low end while people beside them are having their faces melted by the db level.

This past weekend there were about twenty or more at this particular show. there seats were right along where my FOH was situated. We had a riot! Tons of fun all night long.

I got a poop load of beers offered to me upon their request to turn up the volume and nobody cared for it was a huge show with a butt load of people.

That was my Saturday evening ..... How was yours.

Sat. Well.. contrary to what I had planned, knocked over a stand that killed a shock mount.
So I went looking for spare the rubbers, which turned into a clean out of the storage drawers.
That’s ok it was on The List anyway. And.. I found a pair of old cheap RatShack omnis I forgot about..
So I ran it against the QTC-1 on upright to see how it faired!

:>)
Very similar but for needing a bunch more gain (big surprise -not- considering what it was next to), and the dropping off at the very bottom.
..not much in the way of a critical test BTW, mostly was just interested in it as a 'clip on for the bass

Holy crap man, i have experienced this. it was amazing. it was in London ontario canada. and we were playing at this place called the hippy cafe. somehow the owner was able to let people smoke weed in there, and he sold food and stuff. it was pretty weird, i was always afraid the cops would come in. anyway, were in the middle of our first set and a table of like 8 ppl come in and sit down. and like you said holy crap when they started to sign to each other i nearly dropped my guitar. lol. jk. but they seemed to be really impressed we played pretty loud and the drummer was very hyper. lol.. anyway they smoked some grass and chilled. it was really neat. ever cool to find your post.

In my experience, most of the deaf people at shows are the musicians who insist on overly high monitor levels--and occasionally the FOH engineer if he's had a long career without ear protection.

WHAT? Speak up man! :D

This all reminds me ..... My hearing has gotten a wee bit better with the failing of my eye sight.

Huh? What?
Am in the dark here, you'll have to speak up.
