I am a hip hop artist freestyle based and i generally make most of my music either in the studio or on a stage- Recently i had the bright idea to try hooking up a mic to my car! Unfortunately, i lack the schooling needed to hook up a mic and ipod(CD or whatever) at the same time, AND have them both play! Essentially i need a karaoke machine!:confused:

For what purpose do you need to hook up a mic in your car?

This is the third (at least) time this week that a rapper asks something about recording in their car.

Did Car and Driver magazine put out some kind of article about the acoustics of the most popular stolen cars?

:laughings:

All I can think of is the old "MR Microphone" commercials on tv back in the 70s ....

Noah,

Sorry if everybody here is being sarcastic. You have to understand though... this is a forum where people discuss pretty complex recording music technology and theory....

then you come along and ask how to hook up a karaoke machine in your car!?!

Go ask Radio Shack. That might have sounded sarcastic (for the record, it was only 67.2% sarcastic), but they would be a better source of information about that sort of thing. They sell karaoke machines, cheap mics, car stereos, and lots of cables/connectors that you could use to rig it all up.

With some practice, this could be you...

Buy or steal a cop car. Built in mic included.

Plus::

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say?

A battery powered mixer and one of those little FM transmitters would do it.

If your car has and AUX input for a 1/8" jack. just output that mess into your car, turn it up, and perform anywhere your car will take you.
