The joke is, we don't actually know what Noah wants to do. And Noah does, but doesn't know how.

In all sincerity (0% sarcasm!), I sometimes tweak my mixes in my car. The setup I use may actually work for this scenario, too.

I use a laptop with a M-Audio MobilePre USB interface. The MobilePre is USB powered and will provide both the mic input you're looking for as well as the quality 1/8" stereo output to be plugged into the AUX-Input of your car's stereo system. I have a car with a Casette Tape so I use one of the Casette Tape to 1/8" adapters you can find at Wal-Mart or Radioshack.

So you have Mic into MobilePre. Laptop software (I use Sonar) controls effects, volume, and mixing other tunes with the vocals. ...and then back out thru the MobilePre to the Car Stereo. Usually, folks don't use DAW's for Live situations but there may be other DJ software out there that can work better.

If you need more electric power to the laptop to last longer, you can get a 12V DC to 110V AC inverter (RadioShack or HomeDepot) to plug into the cig lighter for sustained elec power.

Hope this helps.

I can hear the radio call go out: "Report of a multiple injury car vs. pedestrian accident at Gayley and Hearst. Car is described as a large black SUV with dark tinted windows and spinning wheel covers. R.P. states that loud music was coming from the SUV and the driver was rapping and dancing in his seat just before striking a group of hippies crossing against the signal. Driver fled the scene, is described as wearing his hat sideways, having dark glasses with shiny gold rims and a 12" gold medallion on a chain around his neck, moving slowly due to his belt being halfway down his thighs. Approach scene with caution. HazMat has been called due to fumes reportedly emanating from injured parties."

I think Noah should grab 2 guitarists, 2 drummers, 2 bassists, and 2 singers and call himself "Noah Zark".

When the world ends, I'm goin' be his bitch but I'm ridin' shotgun. If there's room...

I was gonna do the same thing to my minivan and even bought a small mixer for it too from a pawn shop but it didn't come with a power adapter. Tried to use some adapters laying around the house but it acted like the unit was DOA....what I get for buying cheap. After months of trying to get the right adapter...one finally worked. But after going thru all that I think hooking it up to a car is gonna be too hard so gave up on the idea. It would be a car I wanna be in especially on long trips.

Another option is Bluetooth... Sometimes when I want to hear how my latest song sounds on car stereo without burning a CD, I'll just connect my laptop to my stereo via Bluetooth. The sound quality is less than ideal, but it works.

I am a hip hop artist freestyle based and i generally make most of my music either in the studio or on a stage- Recently i had the bright idea to try hooking up a mic to my car! Unfortunately, i lack the schooling needed to hook up a mic and ipod(CD or whatever) at the same time, AND have them both play! Essentially i need a karaoke machine!
But why ? What are you trying to do ? Will you ever return ? Can you swim ?
