So basically I keep getting these weird and annoying pops/clicks in vocal tracks that usually, but not always, occur on consonants. They seem to be somewhat random, because if I bounce a song again, sometimes the clicks just go away. Here is a sample of this problem which occurs (in the first song) on the S sound in the line at the beginning of the song "I just woke up can't you tell by the way I'm SSSSSSSSSinging" as well as just before the chorus in the J sound at the "I JJJJJJJJJust woke up": Sampler ;) | Scott Ogilvy

While it's not too severe in this song, it has been a serious problem in others and I need to get it fixed if I ever want to be taken seriously.

It seems to me that these clicks and pops are caused in Logic Express 9.1.8 and not from the initial audio signal. The I/O buffer size is at 256 but I think I have set it higher before and gotten the same problem. From now on I will try as high as possible just to see if it helps. I use melodyne, but I actually bought my copy and it shouldn't be causing problems. I am using a pop screen and I have tried multiple interfaces and multiple microphones and still have the same problem. I also have a compression and a brickwall limiter on the master bus. Could logic's limiter be causing this??

Please let me know how I can fix this, thank you!

Are you sure you don't have a stutter?

Seriously, save the track as a wav file and use your music player to listen to it. If it's clear, then it's your "system": and there are a zillion reasons why.

I did that, and it still has that click when played from my ipod (to headphones). So it's not my speakers if that's what you mean by system.
And I'm sure I don't have a stutter. This has happened with other singers that I've recorded as well.

Interesting, so it's getting recorded with the stutter in it. That tells me that the problem is somewhere between your mic and DAW. What gear lies between the two?

Is it definitely in the same place each time?
It's pretty normal to have little playback stutters but they are 'on the fly' processing issues rather than recorded issues.

First stutter you hear, pause, go back, and listen again just to make certain.
