HOOO....HAAA....DAW.........

What's to take?
I'm not following here... if there's a joke in that, I think I just killed it.
I was hoping for a "What is it good for......Absolutely nothing"
You didn't kill it man; It was already dead.
It's an acronym, so I say it like a word...."daw".
I find it weird when people constantly say it with single letters.... D-A-W.
It does. But it says something for the support a person gets here sometimes that we're taking part !This seems like a silly thread,
I've never thought about it until now, but I've never ever said it out loud. I tend to say 'recorder' or 'recording machine'.I never say it out loud (dunno if I ever have).
Or I call it "my Akai" or "my 8 track" or "my Zoom" depending on which one I'm referring to.I've never said it out loud, either. I usually refer to brand names I suppose. But when I read it in my head, my head says "door".
Same here. But it's a weird word to say in reference to a......DAW. I mean a multitracker. Ahm, recording machine.....Door...
The Northern Irish people I know have such strong accents, even though many of them have been here way, way for most of their lives. I often laugh when they say 'now' because it sounds like 'nye'.I'm from Northern Ireland. We don't even pronounce door as 'door'.![]()
Do you say aytch-eye-vee or hiv?

I'm still trying to work out why we say "double u double u double u" when spelling out URLs, as it is 9 syllables, rather than "world wide web", which is three... but "www" is the abbreviation? Epic fail!![]()
Do you know, I was just thinking the same thing. I've never known whether it was an actual name {pronounced like Rammy as in Sammy or Whammy} or an acronym that stands for something {"Required automated monetary information"/"Recording automation multitracking innovation"} like MIDI or an abbreviation of a surname like Ramirez. How do you pronounce RAMI? Is it "rami" or am I supposed to say "R-A-M-I"?
haha!Do you know, I was just thinking the same thing. It's quite fascinating when you start to ponder on it !
