Hi, i am in the process of developing a home made remote for my MS16 and TSR8 as it is basically impossible to locate an AQ-65. One guy in chicago is asking $1k for one...

Anyway so i am developing one and i mentioned it in other threads, so better create one here. Big thanks for Ghost of FM for helping on a potential UI/artwork, his work is great.

The functions will be:
-All of the AQ-65 functionality and apply that to machines that have the Accessory 1 & 2 ports. Also it will be possible to add spool mode and other functions that dont exist on some of this machines. I am doing this when i have free time, as i have a job, so it won't be overnight, but i am making good progress. Will post some videos here with the prototype demos when i get to that point.

Any ideas on functions that you'll like to see in this remote ?

This one might do the trick. Complete with tape speed IPS display!

24 or 32 track capability?

i guess 24 will be the max on something like the MSR24. FOr the ATR80 i dont have access to one, so reverse engineering the remote interface for that will be very hard without having access to one

I don't have one, but I am pretty sure the RC-848 can also control the MSR machines. I think I have hte owners manual somewhere as I had toyed with the idea of picking one of those up. They seem to be more avaiable and in the ballpark of US$2-300 or so.

Plus the ATR80-32 comes with a remote as standard equipment....though not a software GUI one!

It could be done with a bit of expansion on my previous rendering! Though not immediately.

Cheers! :)

for the TSR8, MSR16, MSR24 i can control basically all the functions that exist on the front panel + some other ones that are not in the panel of the recorder, that is more than the original remotes from those machines can do.

yes the -32 and -24 come with the remote and adding the autolocator gives nearly everything that is in the "virtual" controller. It doesnt have the ability to label the memory points, but it has 20 of them!

yeah, the ATR80 is pro enough to come with all from the factory. No need for a different remote for that one. Basically what i want to do is to bring the pro remote/autolocator features to the other machines that dont come with it or that you can't find a remote for it

i would buy one !! i own a ATR-60 16 but without the record control function panel.. so its useless without. this control would solve all my problems..
is it available soon ?? greetz. frank
