Awesome. I like how the sticks appear to be labeled "sticks", just in case there was any doubt there...does that thing produce its own sounds, or just trigger sounds from other devices?

i had to get them labelled in case i used a shoe :D

Its a controller, and theres no hiding its the cheaper end of the market but you can set up the velocity and sensitivety to get away with the shit I do...I mapped it to NI's Modern Drummer and layered it with some electro samples...oh man its fun :)

I TOLE YA!!! Even if you program the kick and hat and play everything else it just adds SOOOO MUCH.

My stuffs 70 bpm generally so Ive got plenty of time to get it right...nothing fancy yet though I love a tom roll like the next man ;)

Haha when I re-read my comment it could have some negative connotations. What I really meant to convey is how I used my kit until I got good enough to let go of the crutch kick and hats. Next stop - learning to open and close the hat properly lol...

I missed a good discussion due to wisdom teeth butthurtness.

kc, ever thought about performing through controllerism? Perhaps with some live looping, or instrument playing thrown in?

Hey mate...wisdom teeth are a bitch :(

Havent thought about anything really...Ive just started to really use Ableton as a live sequencer recently...tbh this album dead in the water, Im not going to do much with it and all in Im only around $700- 800 out of pocket, so its not bad

I think if I really want to make any money of music I have to make commercial quality library tracks...and they have to be whats asked for ie when broadjam say its looking for uplifting instrumentals in a spiritual theme, then Im going to have to make that and try to sell music that way

Im sure if I put my mind to it I can produce paint by numbers stuff thats decently mixed, the cash output is an entry fee and a mastering fee ($100 per track??)...single tracks can pay between $500-$20,000, which is split with broadjam (or whomever), so if theres any chance of making anything this would be the route

or I can just continue to make my own shit and just enjoy the projects...I dont work, I wont for a while, but I wont do this forever either...so I guess its down to me :)

I say if you have the money go for it, but I think you should have a lot of other things in order as well. Like a maintained constantly updated website, pages on all the major social net works, youtube channel, etc. etc. etc. You should have a place to send all your fans and some kind of mailing list so that when you release new material you can put the word out. It might not pay off anytime soon, but if you can build a good fan base over the years you'll actually start getting more sales from people who've stuck it out with you over the years and really enjoy your music. It might take a long time to make back the money you invest maybe you never will, but I don't see anything wrong opening the doors and proper channels for people to find your music.

If you have the money and it's not going to put you out in the street go for it. If I had the money I would do it myself... Everyone wants to find the people who would like their music. I think folks who say that don't care have a secrete dream that people will like their shit. It's stupid to create art and not want to put it on a pedestal for the world to see :D

I say be careful with these companies--most of what they do you can do yourself with some effort.
