I see deaf people
I mixed this using the iPad as a controller with V-Control...brilliant app...like a virtual mixing desk :)

Ive been doing this one for a couple of weeks so lost any objectivity, again..I thought it was fine until I listened on my internet PC...sounds like the kicks too high and the (crappy) vocals are too low...sounded fine elsewhere so Im hoping its these speakers

anyway what I lack in quality I make up for in quantity..this one was coming in at over 60 tracks lol

fresh ears would be great if anyones got a spare 5.40 min :)

thanks all

Whoa - I haven't even finished it yet, but it's pretty freakin' awesome so far.

Your best production I've heard yet. I hear some of the same basic sounds as on other tracks, but the processing of those sounds just seems to be way beyond what I remember. There are just so many layers here.

I thought the kick was fine, but I'll have to listen again and maybe I can find fault somewhere.

Love the horn section sample and how that was worked in there, but the coolest thing was the old western movie style guitar riff. That was just perfect. Was that the green jagomaster or whatever that was?

It just ended. Perfect length...tons of variety. My son and I both loved it!

shit thanks man...I need to take it down to the car and give it a listen...I toned the drums down just before you listened so I maybe got away with it

yeah I processed this a lot more than i normally do...it was getting close to my PCs breaking point for the first time..glad if you can here its a "bigger" project

the guitar was indeed my putrid green telemaster..through a zoom G3...I love that cheapo, one of my best buys

thanks a lot heat, Im never sure its not a dogs dinner until someone else hears it :)

Sounds good to me.

The only nit I have is that some of the fast pans are a little unpleasant on headphones.

Sounds pretty good. I'm not crazy about the 80's depeche mode synths in the beginning and at 2:55. I think all the levels are fine. I think the kick is a little light in the ass It's more of a boxy sound than a low end thump. Is it supposed to be like that? The little guitar line is cool. All in all a well done dark little piece. Even at 5 minutes it didn't seem too long. Well done. :)

does prolly sound a bit busy...I actually tamed the panning down on the finished version...I think Ill be leaving those sounds out on the next couple...getting a bit too expected I think

thanks for listening Steve

the "depeche mode" synth is my prophet, the analog warmth is there to contrast the digital brittleness and set a tone where the listener can...blah blah blah...yeah its a bit cheesy, I think thats why I liked it :D

thanks for listening bro...I boosted the sub kick a little...its meant to be quite punchy, I cant really tell in my room so thanks for pointing that out...sounds better on my phones (sounds the same in my room lol)

Cheers Phil

so thats your daughters and heats son.....

Id be doing gigs at schools if it was for that pesky San Diego County police and their "500 yards from a school" restriction

:D

Sounds tight to me. I like the layers of sounds. Lots of ear candy going on.

I blown away by Greg making a Depeche Mode reference.
This is indeed a bigger production. The melodyne belongs in this style - processing sounds is a big aprt of it all.
I'm listening with HPhones & don't find the panning an issue but I like psychedelic panning.
the Tom Jones Band/MacArthur Park sounding horn break was fun.
You really do have an undercurrent of reggae/dub/rocksteady done't you.
I suppose AWB did make it clear that living beyond Hadrian's wall was akin to being brough up in serviec to the Empire.
In summary: COOL Bananas.

Hey Ray...thanks for listening mate

Im close to finishing the album....then Im gonna try a new style for the next one...one or two more tracks to squeeze out then Im finished :)

the horn break is from Richard "Popcorn" Wylie's - Rosemary what happened? awesome tune...I have a huge catalogue of old soul numbers, I think I want to use more samples of them in the future

I wish I could do more minimalist stuff...I just dont have the ear...so they all end up a bit boombastic by the end

Really cool track.

Inspiring how you combine so much and not make it sound cheesy or tacky.

I'm on consumer earpods and all sounds fine on here :p

I'm a 007 freak so the guitar part is a A+

Hey, you've discovered Autotune...!!:eek::laughings:
As usual, a multitude of wonderful layers. And crystal clear sounding to boot...
Lovely work, Keith! :)

PS: just don't forget us when you're all famous and shit, OK.....

hey thanks kid....a lot of my stuff borders on cheesy, I dont mind if it ventures there :)

I need to combine less and make the tracks fewer but better quality...I just dont have the patience sometimes, especially when Im on a roll

glad you liked the dumb guitar bit..I try and have a little guitar in most tracks

autune...its diabolical lol....anything to hide my vocals

thanks for the nice comments mate, glad the mix sounds clean...even with so many Im quite confident i dont totally muddy up all my mixes, I cant imagine having a proper room..soon, soon

if Americas Most Wanted counts as fame...Im afraid I may forget you, and everyone else I know! :D

Bloody hell KC, this one's a monster. I think it's your finest yet - there's a lot going on, but it all contributes to a coherent whole. I particularly enjoyed the Blue Monday style stuttering kick, the plinky synth line and the skanking guitar.

Only thing I felt in the negative column was that the vocals don't feel in time with the rest of the tune to me. They sound great, but to my ears their rhythm jars - I'm surprised nobody else picked up on it, which makes me wonder whether it's just my sense of rhythm that's a little fucked. Other than that, terrific

Yeah Rob i struggled with them. I lined them up too quantized and they sounded like i was ahead of the tune so i moved them around to make them looser. Coz ive listened to it so much the fit in ti me, except for one or two words, is it them all or just some phrases? Can you be more detailed as i struggled with them Rob?

Much appreciated mate if you have a moment...thanks for listening and the critique, it all helps immensly :)

Well KC on a scale of 1 to 10 ..... I give it about a 20!

Liking that spaghetti western guitar. I'm sure Ennio Morricone is green with envy.
