I've used Audacity it's freeware.. great, but it doesn't have the features that I'm looking for in a recording suite! I'm looking for midi notation features and more. I can save a ton of time coming in here and just being blunt I suppose.. Please forgive, really I'm not this way, but I'm sort of in a hurry to make an informed decision concerning recording software.. Any response pertaining to the fallowing question and take is welcomed.

What's your take on Power Tools Pro Audio?

PT Pro Audio .vs Pro Tools entry level interface and software..

Are you open to trying other software or are you set on PT?

May I suggest Reaper. It has a non-crippling demo and is very powerful....not a cpu hog and it has a large community of users with great tutorials and forum help.

If you decide to keep it the cost is $40.

Something to look into.

REAPER | Audio Production Without Limits

Nice Link ^ I use Cubase cause I've been for years, but with so many people recommending Reaper I've been wanting to check it out. Looks perfect for starting/building a system.

Reaper is the greatest value whether you are a beginner or a pro.

:D THANKS.. Reaper blows away the competition.. It's loaded with features that I don't know about and there's a manual that goes along with it. Very nice and good price too. The suggestion was awesome and I'm 'reaping' the benefits of the application.. LOL.:D

I'm a fan of Reaper too, but if the OP is looking specifically for notation capability, then Reaper doesn't have it.

Never used Power Tools but Pro Tools MBox isn't a bad way to get started.

I have also heard a lot of people recommending Reaper, so I'm about to check that out too.
