hi all,

i'm looking for any way of getting eight vu meters suitable for line level/preamp use.

either a bridge from an old console, 8 separate meters from older casette/reel/console gear, or a modern rack-mount 8 channel vu, like the sm pro audio vu8.

anything considered, UK preferred.

Happy to go through ebay/paypal.

thanks in advance!

Hey Paul .... I'll got up to the shop right now and poke around For ya.
Got some really nice ones on my Yamaha PM1800 but I'm using that console. ;)
Let's see what I can find. Do they have to match?

hey thanks man...that's much appreciated!

yeh, they gota match...probably should have mentioned that! lol.

also worth mentioning, 40mm wide would be absolutely perfect! but smaller is ok.

i'm not overly worried about supreme accuracy....to be honest, i'm fitting these cos some new gear has no peak led, and vus will look kinkier than fitting my own peak led.

i can get cheapo ones on ebay for like $6 each, but they look pretty tacky!

Ya probably cheapo plastic ones that goes more into toys.
Did you check on army or government surplus for really nice ones for cheap?
8 matching, that might be a tall order but I'll see what I can do. If I have them there yours just pay shipping.

no problem if you don't!

thank you very very much though,,you're a true gentleman!

army surplus you say? never thought of that....
i'm not sure where to look, but i'm sure google will help me!

Thanks Paul.
Try a G. surplus. I've always been surprised when I go there.

Just don't go over board with impulse purchasing. ;)

Army or government surplus? really?

sorry,i thought you had a specific store in mind,

found loads of cool stuff, so i'll sift through and see what's suitable.

no problem about only having two,
thanks once again for the offer! :)

Really that's weird! Or do you have an illegal alias here at HR? :D
I'm not sure what to look for in the UK as far as government surplus?

I don't see anything strange here. 12 Milluz just thought you were referencing a specific site rather than gov't surplus. I think it was this that threw him off:

Try a G. surplus
It did me for a second....

Carry on.... :p :)

haha, no, i don't have an alias!

i typed "army surplus you say? never thought of that....

then that other post confused me cos it's like...who's this guy? lol...

i found an 8 channel led meter bridge with all circuitry included..

i'm not an led fan, but it's goin cheap atm!

wish me luck :)
