I'd lead more towards the windings instead of the tuners.
Either that, or the guy playin the guitar is actually a kazoo player by trade.
:)
yeah ...... tuners don't slip and strings don't slip thru tuners after getting them stretched out.
It's always something else.

Having said that ....... the locking tuners are good tuners so it's not like there's any negatives that come with them.

The nut. No one has mentioned the nut. You can lock the tuners all you like but if the string slips throught nut, you're out of tune.

no they definitely hold tune better...I gave her a good playing last night and she still sounds note perfect...wasnt like that before

Prolly cos the nails you fixed the neck on with have bent as far as they will go.

Should be fine now. :)

dude that was wood glue as per instructions found on the internet...are you telling me I should have used nails?

this place is full of false information

locking tuners are the business though...I think theyve saved my life :D

Only have them on one guitar, an ESP, makes restringing easy but it's a shit guitar and rarely gets played.

i dont have any, its an imaginary thread in an alternate universe where Id be this guy that cared about the wee parts on guitars..

Ive got a thread in the keyboard forum about the new locking stand Ive got for my Roland...it saved my life!

No shit?

jeezuz you're way deeper than I gave you credit for.

Not exactly true. You want the strings either to slip frictionlessly through the nut or not to slip at all, especially if you have a tremelo bridge.

or a group, or something...a gang...yes thats it, its like a guitar gang :(

what are you on about now?

bloody hell this forum is an unfriendly place...no wonder so many n00bs dont post in here...its like a clique :o

Welcome kcearl to the guitar and bass board where you will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.

If you ever feel that the service you receive here is below what you would personally expect in your world, on your internet, please feel free to bitch at the mods about your issues and use the neg rep button.

It would also be helpful if you could externalise your dissatisfaction at the level of "me" attention that you seek by trolling the board and deliberately attempting to solicit a rise from those that offend you for what ever reason. Never mind that there is already a board known as the "cave" that obviously has failed to welcome a noob such as you.

Once again we truly hope you have an enjoyable visit here in the guitar and bass boards and that the outcomes are everything that you deserve because you are you and you are special.

Have a nice day.

Is that better.
