I see deaf people
put a set on my washburn...big difference, Id recommend them to everyone that hasnt :)

I have them on my Ibanez. Great in conjunction with the Floyd Rose tremolo bar.

i dont normally bother changing things but im going to stick them on all my guitars now

but im going to stick them on all my guitars now

Didn't you just do that? :laughings:

Lemme think... I've got them on PRS, Blade and Ibanez and not on Les Paul and Burns.

I'm assuming you like them because they keep the thing in tune better?

I have far less trouble with tuning on acoustics than electrics... and I hit the acoustics waaaay harder... and no locking tuners on them. Wonder why...

i have three cheapo electrics and two acoustics...this will require a lot of tuners, especially considering one is a twelve string but the time spent tuning divided over two years should recuperate any initial outlay

I like them because string slippage is the plague of the synth player :)

If you go find darrin he may be able to find you a set cheap and tell you all the reasons why they are better as well.:laughings:

Go fit a locking nut and as well you'll never go out of tune then.

locking nuts are on order...I cant believe this isnt a sticky!

I've got 'em on my custom git.
They don't make gits stay in tune better if you get the strings on right with a conventional tuner. String slippage isn't an issue if you string it right.

But they are pretty convenient when changing strings. I'm fairly underimpressed with them though.

I put some Sperzel locking tuners on a couple of mine.
A big reason is cuz I'm lazy :)
Ya poke the new string thru....snug it up, clip the excess and tighten til tuned.

Quick n easy. Like me. ;)

yeah, that's what I have on my Stinnett.
They ARE easy ........ don't really seem to effect tuning though.

Hey dog ....... do you worry about getting the lock knob very tight or does it hold fine if you simply turn it 'till it closes and don't worry about getting it really tight?

A buddy of mine just threw Sperzels on damned near everything he owns. He likes them for two reasons:

1.) they look cool
2.) String changes are much faster - pull tight, lock, and turn the tuning peg a couple times to get to pitch.

Both are pretty valid reasons (well, the second more than the first, I guess :D) and both are about the only advantages I can think of over any other tuner I've used.

I have a set of locking-pin tuners on my Strat. They don't do shit for keeping things in tune any better that standard tuners, but string changing is much easier.

I just snug em up good and then an extra skosh.
The exact torque specs for a skosh are...tighten til snug and then an extra skosh.

:D

yup...I don't think they actually hold tune any better than any others I've tried but they're easier and with a touch of talcum powder, you're golden.
;)

no they definitely hold tune better...I gave her a good playing last night and she still sounds note perfect...wasnt like that before

I'd lead more towards the windings instead of the tuners.
Either that, or the guy playin the guitar is actually a kazoo player by trade.
:)
