I know this question probably has a million/zillion answers, but I'm just wondering a few things in particular...
Shure offers two "mic packages" one with a a few 57s, and one with some clip-on (PGDMK4) mic's specifically for toms and the same kick mic... you can get the tom mic package on ebay for around $250, or you can get 3 57s for around 360...
do you think using 57s on toms is better?
or is there an alternative to this Shure "mic kit" approach for 250-350 price range you recommend?
And, what mics do you recommend for overheads, that will give a nice compromise between quality and price?
What are some good mics to use for high-hats?
Basically, what a drum mic setup you recommend that has a balance between price and quality?
This is my first question/post.
Thanks!
