First post! Big problem. :(

I got a 610, to replace a EMU0404. And I've had nothing but issues. Unless I'm an idiot I don't ever recall this problem before. I put a little test here (excuse the riff, just wanted to show the problem.)

When I record (in Sonar), I do 4 guitars. (100, 75) I'm using TSS, Lecto, and Gregs beta, that's all. I have everything at 12 o'clock (minus drive on the TSS, at 0) No eq's except HP and LP. The only difference between the 100 and 75 channel, is the 75 is -2db lower.

If I record the 100 and 75 at the same time, it sounds big (but still with some sort of odd phasey-ness to it.) But if I record the separately, there is a big drop in sound and almost sounds completly out of phase.

I recorded 4 bars together, 4 bars separate to show the difference, and then w/ no drums. If someone has had this issue, or knows where I'm going wrong, please help. I don't ever recall there being this big of a difference before.

Not sure what all these terms mean? Are they settings in a sim, amp settings. Can you explain how you are tracking without the specific references?

Sorry, should of been clearer.

This is all me, working on demos. I have 4 tracks of guitar,
(L-100/L-75/R-100/R-75) If I arm both left channels and record 1 guitar to 2 separate channels at the same time, it sounds much fuller the if I record separate take for each channel.

All that jibberish up there are ampsims (Screamer, Amp, and Cabinet Impulses.) I was just explaining that I don't have any crazy settings that would conflict. Basically like mic'ing a guitar cabinet with all settings set at the half way point.

This is just me going back and layering to add fullness. If I haven't been clear, I apologize.

Ok, think I got a better understanding. I'm not sure about this, but is it possible it is a phase problem. I realize you are not using mic's but if going through an amp sim with 2 different settings and recording simultaneously, each patch will have different latency depending on the effects and cpu required.

If the latency is greater on one patch than another patch, this may be causing a phase problem just like using mics.

Does changing your buffer size have any effect?

See, that's the issue, there are no differences between the 2 sets of patches, maybe just a different cab impulse, which I can't see making a difference (I've tried several.) The latency is around 4ms, and it doesn't make a difference what I set it at. I absolutly despise the Maudio interface. I can't make a buffer change without saving my work, closing Sonar, making an adjustment in the Maudio interface, then reopening Sonar and the file, and seeing if it made a difference. It seems like an oversight on their part.
