Hello everybody!
I am new to this forum -- I've been reading a lot of very useful stuff here, so thank you all who contribute their knowledge!!! This is my first posting here.

And here is my question. I don't know if it's right place to post it, and if NOT, then please point me to the right direction:

I have these Yamaha PA speakers, that I would like to put on the wall to save some floor space in my home studio/rehearsal space and also bring them somewhat up to the ear level.
The speakers are big ( 29" x 20" x 13") and HEAVY (80 lbs. each). I just thought of getting those heavy duty shelf brackets at Home Depot (some of them claim to support up to 300 lbs., bolting them to the studs in the wall. Does anybody have any experience with such a project? Any help will be much appreciated.

I'm sure that would be fine. Just be sure that you've got load bearing capacity of the shelves right and that you get into the studs.

it may work if your walls aren't made of drywall:rolleyes:

another option is to install the speakers to the ceiling (again, if you have ceiling that can hold up heavy speakers)

Great, thanks for your replies! :)
I guess I'd like to stick with walls, just don't want to deal with ceiling and weaken the joists by drilling holes in them. The wall (behind drywall) is brick and it's a basement.

Tom Lee Music sells speaker, wall mounts.
I'm pretty sure you can find the same thing at one of your local music shops or on E-Bay.

Thank you, people for your help!
I guess I found a temporary solution -- at least to try how it all will sound -- before doing all that drilling and hanging. I didn't try it yet with everybody playing, but it seams the goal is achieved: the speakers are closer to ear level (compromised height between sitting and standing position). One thing potentially could an issue, that the right PA speaker conflicting with the bass amp. We'll see.
