Your Mother
Basically I sellotape a condenser mic to the ceiling of the van in the back, as an overhead for the drums (2001 ford transit, white, rusty) it will be my Oktava mk319 bass and guitar both plugged into the aux in port on my radio, with a splitter, and turn up the guitar and bass on the stereo on a moderate but not too loud volume, and sing loudly into the steering wheel which will have a single small diaphram condenser taped to it, pointing at me as I drive, another mic will be selotaped to the left side of the dash, towards the radio speaker. While the drummer plays in the back of the van.
The album I will record in this mannor will be called 'The Literal tour album'
What do you think? I insist that we be driving on a motorway at 70mph before we hit record on the h2. There is a wall between the front and back of the van, so the drummer will have to listen carefully as a mic cord can't go through the wall. I have a power inverter so I CAN plug in the samson 22 track mixer using a 4 way extension cord. then output that mixer to my zoom h2 as a mic input...yknow what, im gonna have to put a small hole in the wall for the mics to go through, maybe he can bring his headphones afterall, he is of course the only one who needs them.
If we survive who'd like to hear it? should I video the session? I have 3 cameras, would be perfect, il tape the tripods to the floor of the van, one on me, one on guitar and bassist, one in the back on drummer.
can't wait, we will do this on the 19th
