But some of us have white belts....so to you we look like trendy wannabe's

Im a punk snob. So i'll stow what i really wanna say. However im curious if you classify sub generes by their 'core' :D

Anyways.

Im listening at work on little altec lansings and the mix kinda sounds like i got cotton balls in my ears. or something. I cant seperate the bass from the mud.

The vocals are mixed great. and maybe its the contrast of that good mixed vocals and the other cruddy freq's thats making it sound odd to me. Not sure?

Everything is sitting pretty well admist everything else.

I have no issues with the snare other then that stuffed up sound i am hearing. Cotton in my ears - Something is blocking all the good stuff. But thne agian im not much of a drummer so what the fuck do i know.

I really like the guitar tone to my left.

Production notes:
its about a 1:45 too long. Not saying it sucks. but, i'm sure you could take some of those elements that just seem to drone and make me loose intrest and turn em into a new song. I could probably find a better use for 5 mintues and distorted guitars.

The string squeals i find almost obnoxious in this song. The only time i get happy to hear those is in a cancer bats tune.

SO if your retracking those guitars maybe take a few of those suckers out.

I dunno i just kept waiting for something more Protest the Hero-ish. I am sort familiar with this genre unfortunately casue like gerg said the radio and underground all ages scene IS flodded with this sound.

But i am a punk snob so whatever. again. what do i know.

Id be interested to hear with the new guitar tracks.

But don't make me wait 60 seconds agian PLZ.

try sound click or something like it.

Thanks for your response Atom. Sounds like the mix is deffo struggling in the bass department i'll try to address that. Maybe its the DI'd guitars.

Protest the hero belong to math-core really. I appreciate what they do but i've no desire to sound like them.

My personnal favourite is crabcore. This is hilarious:

oh wow. cool.

lets name our sub genere about how we stand rather then how we play.

Oh well. Jokes on Attack Attack....

Kj of Chixdiggit fame had that shit down like 12+ years ago.

lol @ lame mainstream garbage-core.

also worthy of note, check out Kj's mic stand...

3.5' off the ground...

I wonder if these trendy Brutal break down bands can play a 60 minute set with their mic on a stand 3.5' off the ground singing and playing guitar.

:laughings:

I don't know about that faggy attack attack shit, and chixdiggit sucks, but Johnny Ramone did it first, and did it better.

Ok, I got bored enough to wait that 60 seconds and three failed download attempts to hear the song from that stupid "free" site! You really need to lose that site man. Lucky I'm at work and can afford that kind of time.

You and your band have skilz for sure. Tight jam. If I was watching you guys at a club and had a cold beer, I wouldn't walk out :drunk: Good song, but I was hoping for more of a hook in there. You're young, so don't forget, the guys will dig it as long as play loud and shred a few good guitar riffs. Their girlfriends need to be singing your hooks when they go home and you may do a lot better.

Greg gave you perfect mix advice, so I won't offer anything else on that.

Good luck :)

easy now.

they were clever. quite witty.

and agian... mic's off the ground by 3 feet.

I have yet to see anybody pull that off for 60 minutes.

Who gives a fuck about some stupid "mics off the ground by only 3 feet" gimmick? Lemmy's mic is 8 feet off the ground, so what? Anyone can name a pretty big handful of pop-punk bands that blow them away. :laughings:

Cheers dude. Like i said, apologies for the site, will make sure a better job is done on this next time!

Couple of people on here have commented on the lack of a hook, i guess its just not the way we write songs :) End of the day we're more about the live show anyway, guess that's evident from the fact that i'm doing our recordings!

Nothing wrong with a 'jam-ocracy', but if I were young and hip like you guys, I'd go for the big hooks too :D Less sausage, more clams! :drunk:
