...basically I'm a sucker for these mainstream bassy (is that even a word?) synth sounds. Say what you want, but it is what it is. Maybe I'm mentally retarded or just have bad taste. Whatever.

However...


What I want to do is this...


The specific sound I'm looking to reproduce is from the chorus of that Mollie Cyrus "Party in the USA" song. That Biggie mashup killed me (told you about the bad taste thing).


I have the following synthesizers:


MicroKorg XL (Current)

Roland Juno 6 (1982)

Roland Alpha Juno 2 (1986)


I know there have been threads about this, I did a google search. None of them mentioned the synthesizers at my disposal though, hence the new thread.


I'm also a novice synth programmer. I get that it's probably some low-end sawtooth sound, probably doubled with another low-end sawtooth sound an octive lower. Great, tell me how to do it.

Sounds as if you answered your own question there MB the only thing missing would be any post FX like verb etc.

Figured it was probably Miley, but the thought that there was also a Molly, and perhaps even a Millie as additional Cyruses was too much to take...

I may have heard of this "Millie" Cyrus...I think Lil Wayne wrote a song about her or something :D
 
Well I screwed up and found the video...then it was going through my head as I walked around work.

Luckily someone hit me in the head with a sledge hammer. :laughings:

The rumour on the wire is that there's also a Merle, a Murray and a Mary Cyrus ! :eek:

But they're only employed as bass traps !

Must be for the fact that there is a lot of luggage in the rear of those Cyruses.:D

Microkorg should have computer interface so you can program your sounds over there.
 
I think your Juno 6 will go mono. Add portamento and season to taste.
 
Both Juno's sort of do this faux mono thing with a little tweaking. I didn't think of trying that before.
