Okay, fuck me, I did it. Here's my new music profile page thing at Reverbnation:

http://www.reverbnation.com/gregortheterror

I don't know how any of this works, but check it out and become a fucking fan. This will also probably be where you buy the album when it's ready, which will be very soon, like within a couple weeks. There's a few songs up so you can either vomit or rock out. That's up to you. I'll be updating this site as I figure out how.

Looks good.

Sounds like a basket full of wolf cocks.

But it looks good.

thats all that matters right?

I'm gonna take wolf cocks as a compliment. How could it be any other way?

Nope. The "artwork" is almost done.

i've got a friend that has been doing this locally for years. ALL of the bands making their own cd's around here have done so with him and he does top notch work. he is expanding his business a bit and JUST put up a website. it's still under development and doesn't have a price list but if you email him and tell him you know me he'll hook you up. you won't be disappointed.

Sweet. I'll check it out.

Although, I'm leaning towards kunaki. They'll duplicate, print, package, barcode, and ship. I won't have to sit on a box of CD's and send them out. Kunaki does all that shit automatically.

no shit, huh? do they have a minimum number of discs that they make, then ship to whoever orders one? or if i was the only person to buy your cd, they would only make 1 and charge you for 1?

Yup. Exactly. They make and ship them on demand within 24 hours..

Is that all they do? Is it really just a CD-R?

I tried to check their page out but it freezes my computer? Which i thought odd but it could just be a setting at my work.

But if you got it locked down and the details are all worked out then giver.

I just hope for your sake their finsihed product doesn't look like something a computer savvy cousin could have made for you on weekend in between world of warcraft sessions?

Lol. No. They fully print everything. I've seen their stuff. It's looks pro. Front, inside, CD, tray card - it all gets printed.

What are "real" CDs?

Nothing wrong with CDRs. Cost effective. Manufactured CDs (shiny silver on the laser reading surface with physical pits rather than using colored dye) require big batches all at once.

What XLR said.

Your right, 'rea'l is a loose term.

a CDR will have a yellow if not gold kinda color to it. It won't have that nice mirror like CD look on the playing surface.

there are even CDR that 'look' silver and like the real deal but when help up to some pro cd's you will see a slight difference. the 'silver' cd-rs may have a very subtle green or blue hue to them.

BUT...

the music on them will always be the same no matter what medium you use...

Of course you do get 8-tracks then your in a bit of bind.

A CD might last longer than CDR. The CD's physical pits are likely to hold their shape better than the dye holds its color. But they can both delaminate I guess, or get a death scratch. So definitely go with LP manufacture. :D

Only half kidding. I've already decided that my next album is going to be LP and digital delivery only.

I was just going to ask if he considered doing a Digital Download only?

I don't know what its going to cost you to have the cd's done the way your doing it now but it may be worth while to investigate that possibility? Less over head.

?

but as a music junky and a muscian, to have something tactile is much more rewarding.

Digital Download is if you were really greedy and wanted a bigger profit. No real out of pocket expense cept for the time you put into actually making the music and liner notes, cover and shit which can be done as PDF's and included in the zip file Fan A or Fan F purchases?
