Hopefully this one is better...

I ended up taking advice from pretty much everyone. I bricked one of the vocal tracks, and turned the whole vocal bus up 1db.

I also had a copy/paste party with the drums. Great suggestion, Jeff.

Lemme know what ya'll think.

Dance With Me Remix

That sounds better vocally - she's cutting through the mix better on the loud parts. Just an aside - my daughter knows all the words to every song she likes so it's good to be able to distinguish them. The drums seem nice and tight although I didn't have an issue before. :)

Vocals are much better. I think they're sitting about right now. A syncing problem or two on a word here and there (e.g., the word "time" at :56 and some word I can't discern at 1:40, the word "now" at 1:52). There are others. If you kept both the tracks down the center they probably wouldn't be noticable.

The vocals are much better and the track seems to have more energy overall.

The snare needs a little work. I won't lie I really don't like the snare sound. There's not enough snap for my liking (again just my personal preference). But besides that the snare needs to be brought up a little. The kick drum and bass are working well together but the back beat has no "umph" in the chorus.

Just my opinion but if it were me I'd put a sample with the snare hits in the chorus. But again just my opinion.

Yeah. The diction issue is beyond what I'm doing here, but I agree. Understandable words are much, much better than the alternative.

This is why I love this forum. Thanks for the nits. I'll take a look at those areas and see if I can't tighten em' up. Rep given.

I was listening to this last night thinking the same thing. The snare really doesn't "cut" through this mix. It's not disappearing completely, but it really doesn't shine. I've got a few ideas I'm gonna use tonight to get it to cut through and sound better.

Thanks for the comment!
