Not my cup of tea genre-wise, but you made a nice, high quality recording. Good use of the audio spectrum, good panning with balance, though it sounds a bit more compressed than I would have expected - is that typical of your genre, or am I just tired (likely)?

Also, the staccato guitar starting at 0:45 I would consider making slightly more pronounced - VERY slight, barely a nudge. It's very "grabby" which I like.

Also, the bass with all the top end is delicious.

Other than those artistically subjective comments I think you made a very nice recording. As-is it will stand on it's own just fine and serve you well. Good luck with your demo.

Although I'm not a fan of that kind of sound, I have to say that Your songs is well played/recorded. Sounds powerfull!!!
Great job!

Thanks a lot for the comments. I wrestled a lot with how loud the staccato parts should be. I've had it from almost inaudible, all the way to way out front. It just kind of landed somewhere in the middle. It's not that important and I didn't even really expect it to get noticed. :o

Awesome song gerg.
Thanks SirN. :D

:D

Thank God I'm not alone. ;) It really sticks! I think you have a real winner here.
Thanks. Maybe it'll get played on the radio. :laughings: :laughings:

The volume of the staccato part is fine actually, but I hear a little slope in the attack of each note and I was thinking making that sharper might draw more attention to it without going louder or changing the balance of the passage. This is not something you would change in your mix, but rather playing style - a little more "pronunciation" with the pick if you will - a nudge.

The reason why I suggested it is because the bassline is also a bit of a melody in those spots, and bit more pick on the guitar, giving it more attack with each note, would separate it a little more from the top end of the bass, without changing the volume balance between the two instruments.

This is an artistic comment, not a technical recording comment.

Ah, gotcha. I can barely play guitar, so it is what it is. :o

That little staccato part is, to the best of my knowledge, an Am, F, and E - played in the first position and pretty heavily palm muted. Then later in the song I use a harmonized line to go with it and I don't recall what those notes are. So, pick harder?

I hear ya. I couldnt even tell you what key or note I play. March of Dimes is a good charity, glad to hear it, I thaught we were being silly. :)

I'm at work and came back for another listen. :)

Lol. Yeah, I know the names of a few basic chords and the notes on the fretboard. That's about the extent of my theory knowledge. I do everything by sound and feel. :o

The basic (power)chords used throughout this song are: A, A#, B, C, D, D#, E, F, and G.

Lol. So what key is that? I have no idea.

I'm a week late (and lot more than seven buck short) but that's how long it took for me to get in front of my monitors.

I knew we'd hear about your sensitive side sooner or later - nice! I hear some misfits

exquisitely done, as usual
