cubicle partitions as room treatment

Hi,

There's a bunch of unused cubicle partitions in a storage area where I work. Anyone know what these are made of? Is it worth trying to talk my boss out of a couple to put in the corners and on the ceiling of my poorly treated room?

I would think they would be cumbersome to put on the wall and too big for reflection points. They should work good for isolation during tracking. Especially if you were tracking an entire band live.

Take my word for it - they reduce the transmitted sound very minimally. Never worked in a cube farm?

Probably they won't reduce transmission much, as you say, but it sounds like the OP is trying to do bass trapping and control reflections, and those partitions will probably be better than nothing. If he can get them for free, I'd say they are worth trying out.

Yeah...they are designed to reduce sound transmission...if they are free...get a few.
