Xaviere or SX?

Hey all,

I'm wanting to get a Tele Copy, and I had my mind set on a Xaviere XV-820. But I also found an SX STL50. And that is $70 cheaper. Is there a noticable difference, betwwen the 2? I know from reviews that Xaviere are great, but how about the SX's. Thnx in advance, Jacob

I have a Xaviere XV-850 (Strat clone) and it's a kick-ass guitar, especially for the price. (I got a blem for something like $145 to my door.)

My understanding is that with either the Xavier or SX guitars, you may have to sort through some clunkers before you get a good one. I got lucky on the first shot.

I bought the tele and strat kits from guitarfetish. We're just finishing up the strat (for practice), then on to the tele.

So far the only problems have been that the factory-drilled holes for the machine heads were too small, and had to be reamed out, and one of the machine head nuts had dinged threads - easy enough to file.
