I've been talking with my son about setting up a recording area in the basement. I've been playing with a friends Tascam 424 and have learned a lot so far (just a fraction of what I need). I've thought about computer-based recording but looking at all the necessary toys it seems like a little more that I'm ready to part with. I just purchased one of the Peavey FX32 mixers about a year ago. It has 2 USB ports on it. The owners manual says that one (A-type) is a USB memory connector to use for plugging in a removable data sotrage device to read or write MP3-formatted files. The other is a B-type "to connect with a computer". When I first got the mixer I hooked it up to download the latest firmware. My son suggested that it may be able to be used to mix to my PC. Does anyone out there know if it could be configured to use as a mixer into ProTools (or other recording software)????? Thanks.
