Chance, I posted this on another forum,, but I'll post it here in hopes you see it. Earlier you said that the Ribbon mics weren't done yet. Is EVERYTHING shipping on the 10th or just the condensers and pre's (ie: no ribbons).

Thx,

bp

Good question drBill..........especially for those of us who have pre's and ribbons on order AND who have o/seas shipping involved.

I wonder whether Chance has any idea on a time frame for the final shipping to everyone.

Ok, I'm getting excited now!!!!!

I do wish I would have ordered some of the pre's. If anyone wants to part with theirs, let me know :)

Geez, gentlemen, relax. Back in July, I posted a likely timetable that suggested that most of us would receive our purchases somewhere between Halloween and Thanksgiving. The only thing that's changed since then is that the shipment from China has slipped by a couple of weeks (making them later still). So let's not jump the gun. It's going to be a while yet before anyone gets their orders.

Here's what has to happen:

1) China ships everything (?) on September 10th. Shipping takes 30 days, but let's be optimistic and hope for them to get here by October 1st.

2) Chance arranges to get them through customs and has them delivered to whoever it is that will do the actual shipping. Figure at least a week.

3) That vendor begins packaging them for shipment. As packages are completed, weighed, and labeled, Chance has to send a bill to the recipient (us) to get payment for the shipping costs. We then make payment, and Chance tells the logistics vendor to release them for shipping. Figure another week.

4) That means that the earliest packages will go out (at best) around October 15th. Most will go out later, with the entire process taking perhaps 3-4 weeks.

Actual ground shipping will take another 3-7 days. So a few very early shipments may (if all goes perfectly) arrive in late October. A few very late shipments (mostly those who don't get shipping costs paid quickly) may arrive after Thanksgiving. The rest (the vast majority of us) will arrive somewhere in between.

Overseas shipments will take longer. Those who are picking up products in person will obviously be quicker.

This is based on nothing more than some reasonable estimates and experience with the prior group buys here. But I think it's pretty solid. And, like all project plans, it's more likely to slip than to improve.

If you really want to be optimistic, then hope that the logistics vendor is able to process the entire batch of orders in a very short time period (say, a week). Then the bottleneck becomes the payment process for shipping costs. But even in that best case scenario, it still just means that more of us will see shipments near the end of October rather than November.

Chance, if you think my estimates are way off, please say so. I certainly won't be offended.

Because of such a large order, things must be done differently this time. previous GB's, I would rent a U-haul truck and pick everything up. This time, everything is coming in containers, and I must have them trucked to my wearhouse. from there I will be transporting cartons to the packaging/shipping building. They will be packing 8 hours a day 5 days a week. When they have an order packed, weighed, and measured, they will E-mail me this info and I will print out the labels and bill you all. When I recieve payment, they will immeadiately ship to you. Bear in mind, there are around 300 orders. Overseas orders will go out USPS, and USA orders will go out Fed Ex. For the lucky-locals, I will have your orders here at the studio for pick up.

Jim, respectfully, maybe it's you who needs to relax. Nobody's upset here. No one is complaining. No one is pushing to get their gear. I don't see any drama at all, just inquiry. There's no need to chastise. We were just checking in, that's all. And I'll rely on Chances estimate over yours, thanks for the offer though. Personally, all I wanted to know was if the ribbons were shipping with the other gear.

:D:D

Hey Chance, thanks for the updates! When the appropriate time comes, give us lucky locals the lowdown on coming out!! If you need help transporting or loading trucks or etc., don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers,

bp

It would be hard to be more relaxed than I, thanks! :) In any event, it appears that Chance's remarks pretty much confirm what I told you.

My only goal was to answer that "inquiry" of which you speak - I've certainly not chastised anyone!. A few around here still seem to think that they'll have them by the end of this month.

It sounds like you're one of the locals, so maybe you can be at Chance's door to get yours first thing. Good luck!

I just met with the people doing the pack & ship. I will try to get a hold of Randy later but when you all paid for the gear, I didn't bill you because you all knew upfront the cost of the gear. Since there is no way of knowing the cost of shipping up-front, because everyone will be different, I guess I will send an E-mail with the shipping costs. At this time (until I speak with Randy)I'm not sure how the payment process will work.

Chance-

You should be able to just send one mass email to everyone, telling them to log in and see their costs. Please don't do a separate email for each person!:D

Hey Guys.

How do you change shipping addresses again? I know it's stated somewhere but I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks

I posted some time ago about updating your shipping info. All the invoices are printed and at the shipper. Anyone that has a change, E-mail me with "SHIPPING INFO" in the subject header,

I updated my shipping 6 weeks ago, if i'm not mistaken that was before they were printed?

Can anyone save me the 100 page search :D:D and tell me the default log in password on the registration page? I knew I should have changed it, but now it's forgotten who I am and I don't remember the default password.

Thx.
