It's not speculation, it's a question: what was the cause of the fault?

Anyway, if I had to make up an excuse for a customer, "I ran out of a critical part that is on backorder" sounds a whole lot better than "54% of the final batch was found to be defective!"

The fact that.......1) you know as well as me that by the time that the earlier shitstorm fizzled out, AH had made it clear that he had no interest in these units, and 2) that you couldn't help dragging his name into this current "issue" doesn't do you any favours :rolleyes:.

Bill,

I realised that you saw it as funny but considering the emotions raised "back then" on both sides of the fence, I believe it should all be left as past history.......not resurrected, even as a joke. Should you wish to edit your post then that's your call, not mine........it can stay "as is" for all I care now.

Well Chance, if those 100 arrive late, I'll be willing to wait a little longer for my pre. Don't know if it really matters or not, but I'm surviving without for now and can do so for a while, so I'll be okay. Let me know.

You should be okay. If I know my luck, I'm sure mine are in the late batch anyway. We should start a club for those that are shipped towards the end of the list. A support group of sorts.

"Chance said that I didn't need my pres right this second and that I can't read good." That'll be the name. We vote for Officers in October.

you may be better off to get one from the last batch...seems that they are taking extra care to check them over really well...
 
as a matter of fact....I will wait quitely at the back of the line to get my pre's.....dont go through any extra trouble, but if its an option...Ill wait for mine...
 
yeah i'll wait too. i'm only getting one of the 73's out of this gb and i'm not in any sort of rush.

I spoke with the broker yesterday and he said that the mics are shipping from China on the 13th and the pres will ship on the 15th. They are shipping from two different ports. They expect the voyage to be between two and three weeks. Once they arrive here in LA, they must be held for around another week to be cleared in customs for release. After that, they will be shipped to me and will immeadiately be disbursed to the shipping dept.

Question:
Since I have never used the payment system that you guys used for the gear, how does it work? In other words, when your order is ready to ship, you will get an E-mail and we'll use the same system as before, only I don't know how you guys did it. I still can't get a hold of Randy, but will keep trying.

Hi Chance. From what I remember Randy saying, once we have the shipping amount, we'll simply log into our account and make that payment (via CC) the same way as before. I'm assuming that the merchant account that Randy set up is still in place.

Somebody (you or Randy) has to log in as some sort of admin user to tell the system how much we owe for shipping. Once that info is entered, we'll be able to click View Invoice and it should "just work"; at first glance, it looks like all the coding is done, anyway.

If for any reason you're not able to reach Randy and need help fixing anything on the system (assuming you have sufficient access to do so), shout. ASP really isn't my thing, but in a pinch, a programming language is a programming language. Once you've worked with a dozen of 'em, they all start to look pretty much the same... except LISP and Scheme.... They look more like a parenthesis factory threw up. :D
 
Everything is now on its way. Hmm, what could I do with 1000 mic pres? 1000 simultaneous tracks? LOL
