well played Dragon...

Harvey... I, like so many others here, DO NOT want to see you leave...
not over something like this (if you leave... its what he wants/not what you want)

cant blame you for being pissed... but dont leave 'cause some A$$CLOWN
dont get it. most of us here know its all about the player/song - that, and
great amps come in all sizes/price ranges... but its really all about the player

peace be with you... in whatever you decide

oh... and thank you so much for (all) that you have shared
(one of a kind, you are... & this place just wont be the same without you)

you know you really dont want to go.................... i hope

or, as the immortal KC would say it:

I love you
Yeah
Harvey, I love you so
I want you to know
That I'm going to miss your posts
The minute you walk out that door
(Chorus)
So please don't go
Don't go
Don't go away
Please don't go
Don't go
I'm begging you to stay
If you leave
At least in my lifetime
I've had one dream come true
I was blessed to read the posts
By someone as wonderful as you
(Chorus)
Hey, hey, hey
Yeah
Harvey, I love you so
I, I want you to know
That I'm going to miss your posts
The minute you walk out that door
So please don't go
Don't go
Don't go away
Hey, hey, hey
I need your posts
I'm down on my knees
Beggin' please, please, please
Don't go
Don't you hear me Harvey

please don't go

Don't leave me now
Oh, no, no, no, no
Please don't go
I want you to know
That I, I, I, love you so
Don't leave me Harvey
Please don't go

hey, we were all thinking it -- I just said it

Moot. Daisy is now gone.

Many thanks for the prompt response although the thread/issue, etc., is not "moot" while ever this person or others like him are free to return under a new username......... one MCI2424 comes to mind.

*sigh*... I guess I should join some of those other forums now, too...
On the bright side, there are still plenty of people here who have been very helpful to me, so let's not all jump ship :)

Daisy is now gone.

Huh!? Daisy (or whomever) gives Harvey a vaguely hard time about a Fender Frontline amp and gets kicked off the board?

If Daisy is indeed Chessrock then I can say with ease that I've gotten as much good info from Chessrock since I've joined this board as I have Harvey. Chessrock is certainly more oppinionated then Harvey but so are the best recording engineers I'm familiar with.

There may be a lot more to Daisy getting the boot than I'm aware of but if not this is pathetic.

Shame on you guys if not...

Keith Ricker, aka chessrock, aka Daisey, aka Moon Unit Sound...He has been instrumental in driving several actual recording pros away from this site in the past, temporarily or permanently, including Harvey Gerst, Alan Hyatt and Stephen Paul (RIP).

Oh please. The only thing that drove Alan Hyatt away was Alan's own bad attitude. Remember how he approached the Group Buy thread, etc, etc? Alan creates his own problems, he certainly does not need Chessrock's help in taking the piss.

the main issue with chesrock daisy's rhetoric IMO is that he would talk crap about things he had no experience with. If someone said that they had heard "whatever" and they thought it was crap then fine, but to challenge someones experience based on how you think things might be is asinine.
Most of the people on this forum (especially me) do not have alot of experience with high end gear, so we kinda look in the direction of those that have experience with both cheap and expensive gear to guide us. Harvey is King in this respect, and chess just slams stuff without really knowing about what he's slamming. It's almost like he can't accept that some affordable gear can give the high end stuff a run.
Any way point being I don't really give much credence chessrock's kind of opinions. He'd say "theirs no way a $250 mic can sound like a $3000 mic". Well I can kinda see his point, but having not actually used said $250 mic how can he possibly know. If he said "It's highly unlikely a $250 mic can sound like a $3000 mic" I'd be on board but he just would say things of a certainty that he had no business saying because he lacked the experience.
His dialog was more of someone trying to convince themselves of a point than trying to help someone else.(at leased when he was slamming affordable gear)

Eh. Was Chessrock really slamming though? And is Harvey really "King"?

People have called me a jerk for refusing to record metal distortion parts using PODs in my studio, because PODs suck for that, as far as my ears are concerned. I will always default to a tube amp when possible because my experience with them has always been better than with other options.

I didn't have any issue with Daisy/Chessrock/Whatever teasing Harvey about the Fender Frontline amp. If someone came into my studio with a Frontline I might wonder about it too. I wouldn't knock it until I heard it though.

In Harvey's case, Harvey proved with sound samples that the Frontman was very good for metal, that pretty much showed Daisy/Chessrock/Whatever up - no need to ban him, he's already lost credibility by Harvey making the sound post.

I like Harvey and Chessrock both. I think they are both helpful on the boards. If Chessrock would lay off a bit that would be helpful. And Harvey, you're appreciated here too much to let one guy get on your nerves (I hope)!

Chessrock was banned for other reasons and the reasons were justified as far as I remember. I believe the rule is that if you're discovered entering and posting under a pseudonym, you're gone again. Dragon had every right to boot him if he discovered it was Chessrock. It had nothing to do with the argument with Harvey, although I'm sure that helped expose him.

Have you ever met him?

I have and I know he doesn't have a bad attitude. If anything, he's quite cheerful and helpful. A very nice person. IMO, he was completely misjudged in that whole debacle.

Yes, Daisy/Chessrock/RecordingPro/Whatever WAS "slamming" me, and hell no, I ain't no king!! The original thread had a metal guy asking about how to improve his recordings and I suggested a low cost way to get a heavier guitar sound.

Daisy/Chessrock/RecordingPro/Whoever said basically, "Bullshit, you need a big tube amp to do metal". And then he called the amp a "cheap, solid state toy amp" and anybody who might take me seriously, he called them "lemmings". And he even started a new thread warning people against taking my advice. WTF is up with that?

Did he try it? No, he didn't. Was I right or wrong? He didn't care. Was my advice appreciated by the OP? Yes, but Daisy/Chessrock/RecordingPro/Whatever didn't care.

Should I put up with the same bullshit from him for another 7 years? Why bother? I've tried to help out here for the last 7 years, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna keep doing it when I'm treated like shit by some of the people here. He insulted me, and he insulted a lot of other people here by calling them mindless lemmings.

So that's where things stand right now; I'm sitting on the fence as to whether I should continue posting here, and hafta constantly defend myself from this type of attack.

And, for the record, we don't use a POD here either.
