What on earth is this RAMI guys problem? Nothing constructive to say just childish bad language.

Nah, I'm sure it makes him feel great mouthing off to people over the internet.

EDIT: My rep went from all green to all red in 1 post?

Mine too. Seems if a long standing member doesn't like something you've said, thats it.

Come on, guys. It's not about one long standing member not liking what you say.

If you're going to go public with it, at least tell the whole story. You both got negative rep from me AFTER you gave me negative rep. I just gave you both a "Right back at you" type of thing. Rep is a big joke anyway, but if you're going to dish it out, at least learn to to take it without complaining.

Having said that, I do apologize for the name calling. I wasn't trying to start a war with my first post, but really thought the OP was dismissing a lot of the advice he was getting from some knowledgeable people. If I was wrong, then it wouldn't be the first time.:eek:

No hard feelings on my part. And I acknowledge my lack of restraint and maturity in this case. I have a general problem with maturity, especially if I post too early in the morning. :( :D

About the only thing you can do (other than all the broadbands :D) is to learn the monitors. Figure out how they translate and take that into consideration when mixing.

Burn a bunch of cd's and try them in different stereos. Boomboxes (do they still call em that??:p) car stereos etc...

If they sound too bass heavy, back off the bass and lower freqs when you're mixing. It'll probably be to the point of your mixes sounding weak and thin in your room but will translate decently to other systems.

Most definitely not the optimum but you work with whatcha got til ya don't have to...right?
This is great advice. unless you have the cash to treat the room properly your at the mercy of the room.I had this same problem untill I got to know the monitors and the room and how my mixes translate. my studio www.sterlingsoundstudios.com

that rami guy seems like one of those elitist assholes that thinks his opinion on things trumps everyone else. i mean it's one thing to give advice and it's another to make the person you're giving advice to feel like an idiot for even needing advice, people wouldn't learn anything if they felt like they were stupid for even asking. recording forums are important because they have a lot of information, but unfortunately a lot of the people providing information are complete assholes

I don't want to go off-topic, but you might want to consider changing the name of your place... Sterling Sound is one of, if not *the* biggest post-production facilities on the planet.
