Name an artist you would like to work with, from the production standpoint: --write lyrics to a song and have them record/perform it
--make a track and have them use it for their next project

The Catch - NOT A OUTSTANDING SUPERSTAR LIKE JayZ or 50 Cent . . . but an "up and coming" already "out there" artist . . .

Then how would you go about MARKETING (getting that song) to that artist?

For me, I would like to do a song for . . .

Hip Hop: Rasheeda
RnB: Christina Milian, Tamia

But I have no real good ideas on how to get to them - I mean a phone call just doesn't seem to do it!

Yes ya do... you ask them.. holla at them through there myspace. Sometimes you get lucky. If ya really want them be prepared to pay them for a feature. If there indie they just may take you up on your offer, if they are on a major label you may have to go through some red tape ie.. pay the record label as well as the artist for a feature.

That's true about havin' to pay them. We hit up Young Noble from the outlaws and he hit us back and said he would do a track for $2500. I would love to do a track with him but thats way out of my price range:o. Got to feed the family ya' know. But if you got the money to do it I would say go for it. You got to spend money to make money:)

OK NOW U MEAN . . . PAYIN THE ARTIST TO BE ON YOUR OWN CD OR PAYIN THE ARTIST TO USE YOUR OWN TRACK ON THEIR PROJECT? (as i write it, it sounds like a stupid question cuz the latter just CANT be what you mean . . . but i actually am UNSURE ABOUT THIS . . .)

The first not the latter, if they want to use your track name your price.
