Count me in on the ACH option! Hoping to pay by the end of next week (I leave on deployment to the sandbox for a year!)

Jay

hopefully when you return safely, you'll have some ACM's waiting to welcome you home.:)

Just a comment to those concerned about shockmounts, IMO they are really not very good quality anyway. The elastic bands tend to fall out of their holders and you almost have to overtorque them to prevent collapse. I have shockmounts for the 583 and 6802 from the last buy and greatly prefer using mounts from other microphones. So you may want to look for other options.

I am very happy with the microphones though and don't mean to sound negative. I am ordering again.

This is all great news guys. My wife and I prayed for the last 2 days that this Paypal junk would get cleared up and Chance would get his money released to pay his tax bill. Now we have just added you, vicenzajay to that prayer list, hope you don't mind:). Please keep us posted on how things are going if possible. You and the troops are worth more than all these mics and preamps!

Count me in for ACH also. Can't wait to get this mic. Although I can only get 1 at this time, I'm planning on getting in on the next GB too.

Thanks again Chance and Randy for all you've done.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes and especially the prayers...

I very much covet your prayers - most of all for my family (especially my son, who is autistic - he's having a tough time digesting this one).

For the record, though, I'm sure there are many on this board who either have, or will, deploy to this region as well....I'm praying for them on my own prayer list! I'll try to stay on the board as long as I have access!

Chance/Randy...I'm just overwhelmed by your hard work and patience during this very trying couple of weeks. Thanks again for sticking by us all and working this out.

Jay

Oh yeah!

I'll be looking forward to working them all out...the ACM's and the 4 mic pres!

It's a good time to be a home recording guy, isn't it?!

Didn't work out for me to order this time, but my steps are ordered.

Will I get a new ribbon for my ACM-3?

This is a good question. Chance, how will you know who to get replacement ribbons to? I need 2 replacements for the 2 ACM-3 mics I bought in the first group buy (I believe they were called HRM-10's back then).

Randy, I know you already have enough on your plate (and I really appreciate all your efforts!) but what about adding a "Replacement Ribbon" item to the products?

I thought I mentioned this already but the replacment ribbons and shockmounts will be included in the next shippment

I haven't had any trouble with the bands. YMMV. A tiny bit of bending should take care of that, though.

As for having to over-torque them, I posted a mod thread that really helps this problem a lot.

Those mics are new (not re branded) They have not been evaluated, much like if you remember, the 310 was in the beginning

Hey Chance,

First off, I tip my hat to you for all the amazing work on this project.

Regarding ACM-200 and ACM-900, earlier in this thread, you did mention you've been using them both in your studio extensively - the prototypes at least. Perhaps you could throw out some impressions, and if possible, a compare/contract to the ACM-2 and ACM-3?

I think we'd all welcome any little tidbits about these new models to help in our budgetary/decision-making process.

And again....thank you!!! :)

I have reciently used and liked the ACM-200 on vox. She had a very thin voice. I tried all the high dollar mics, but the 200 really smoothed her voice and made it workable.

Chance- What about replacement ribbons for those of us who were in the last buy but not in this one?

How do I go about getting the shockmount for the ACM3? Is it impossible to order a shockmount for it in this group buy?

Last I recall, they were only about five bucks cheaper than just buying the mounts from CAD, Studio Projects, Joe Meek, or any of the other dozen companies that all resell nearly identical shock mounts with only minor differences....

Which mic do you want a shock mount for:

1. SDC or similarly shaped ribbon 1 2 3
2. LDC without threaded bottom 1 2
3. LDC with threaded bottom: 1 2

For the ACM3, I think any of the SDC mounts should work. I just tried my ACM-310 shock mount on my ACM-3 and while it's a hair looser than I'd like, it's usable. I'd probably put a single layer electric tape wrap around the mic to make it a little tighter, but it's usable.
