Regarding the letter Chance posted above, I think it's necessary that I reveal my recent involvement in this problem. First, I have no money tied up in this because I hadn't yet paid my invoice so sticking my nose in wasn't self-motivated.

Obviously, I've been following this problem as we all have and I was hoping it would resolve itself quickly. When it was apparent that it wouldn't, I sent a message to Chance offering to assist and, with his thanks and approval, I emailed a cousin of mine who is a very upper level executive at ebay explaining the problem and asking if he could assist in getting it cleared up. I sent the email late in the afternoon on Tuesday and yesterday I received a phone call from Andrea (the one who sent the letter to Chance) who told me that she'd been contacted by my cousin and would be handling this problem.

I am revealing this now because I think it would work against Chance's best interests and the interests of those who have their money tied up, if people started filling Andrea's email box with letters of complaint. She is going to expedite the handling of this issue and it will get resolved quicker than if it had gone through normal channels. So please don't sabotage our chances of a fast resolution just to let off a little steam.

As a point of interest, I was listening to MPR (Minnesota Public Radio) yesterday and they were discussing current economic trends in China and how they have been affected by the economic malaise in the US. They quoted the manager/owner of Shuaiyin Electronics (a major Chinese microphone manufacturer) as saying that business cratered by 40% in the last quarter of 2007. If other Chinese gear manufacturers are having the same experience, this is a good time to be exploring GBs with them. They need the business and should be willing to work with us to do deals.
 
Thanks Jim! And thanks again to Chance and Randy for sweating through all this. I think we all need to just chill for a couple more days and everything will work itself out. This is NOT some kind of Nigerian scam here, after all.... And I'm still confident we'll all be quite happy by Christmas or so.

That is some great news!!!
And since there's no reason why you should be alone in getting a refund, I think we can feel pretty sure that everyone else will get theirs quickly and then we can all move on with the Group Buy. I really want my stuff.

shock mount/ dimensions of 583

so as far as i've been able to ascertain, the 583 does not come with a shock mount, but is there one available at all?

what have those of you that got one in the previous buy been using? like is there some other mount or holder that works for it?

Previously there was an optional shock mount.
 
Got my refund from PayPal this morning too. Thanks again Randy and Chance. Whatever you decide for the next payment option, I'm in.

Just for the record, we ARE almost done with the new account implementation for the merchant account to be able to start the payment process over again... Just got off the phone with the processor again, and were going in that direction... It's almost like trying to eat an elephant! :D

At any rate, here's the payment options that we will have:

  1. Credit Card Processing - Visa & MasterCard only (Amex & Discover costs too much! :)) - Not sure of the exact transaction fees yet but will inform everone as soon as I know and the account gets boarded.
  2. ACH - Online Checks - If you have the cash in the bank and you'd rather make payment using this method, it will be available. Still not sure on the exact transaction fee for this one, but it will be cheaper than the credit card processing option. I will post the exact rates as soon as they are passed along to me from the processor.

I know, I know, some of you are thinking, "He opened up a merchant acccount and don't know the rates???"... Yes, I did. But I know all of these people that are working for this processor and I know that they will give me the best rates that they possibly can... Some of these people I have worked with, actually in the same office for 6+ years...

I'll post more updates as soon as I have them.
