Challenge for March 1st

Deadline approacheth

Remember that Saturday night midnite is the deadline for writing. People will have all day on March 2cd to post their work. By Sunday midnite (unless you are an Aussie:D) you need to have your entry up and ready for critique. Good luck all. I hope to see many participants.;)
 
This made me want to write something like

train train train
me say zero
no no love train
very shit!

...but I suppose I would lose.

Still.........the train,train,train,very shit! has a nice ring to it.:D:D

So we do not post our song on the 1st, rather the 2nd of March?

Not my intent to bump the thread and monopolize the forum but there is only a day and a half left in the Challenge. My entry is done and ready for submission as of last night. I hope that others are joining in the fun.

So while the focus is on the chorus, we do post the whole song, right? BTW, I actually have a tune in mind for mine. Being 95% lyricist and 1% musician, I have no clue how to record and post it here...it seems to me that many of you guys have a different website you use for that purpose; what site would that be, and would "a capella" be acceptable? Even tho I don't currently make any $ from my singing, I would be interested in critiques of the melody itself. I can never tell if it sounds too much like something else that's out there already, music-writing isn't my forte, but I do like to try it occassionally. I've been told that my voice can be pleasant, but I don't have any real formal training outside of 1 year of High school choir 15 years ago.:eek: (I am planning on changing that soon.)

a lot of us use soundclick.com and some of us just post our stuff to lightningmp3.com soundclick gives you an artist page and all but lightning is just an upload and it sends you a link to your song so you can have others hear it.
 
oh i won't be participating in this challenge this month. i can't write without saying i or you lol. i guess i'm a narcissist lol.

lol...I thought "Train" was out but "bus" was in...

next month's challenge: writing the perfect country and western song, but it has to mention momma, trucks, trains, prison, and getting drunk. :D

That's a shame. We will miss your insight and analysis. Perhaps consider pulling an all-nighter? The song I am submitting is pretty weak but I am going through the process to try and pick up something that will help me on future songs. I don't intend to record this one. Would "Pretty Please" get you involved?:D
 
I'm only planning to spend an hour or several on mine. And heck, even without "I" or "you," we still have third person and even first person plural.

BTW, up-fiddler, I'm assuming that the plural of a "permitted" word counts as that word. Correct?

well pretty please is a good effort but i've been working on two songs lately. been working with my writing partner. and have a couple of songs one about addiction and one about that muslim girl who was sentenced to 200 lashes and 6 months in prison after being gang raped. one has i in it a lot and one has you in i a lot. lol. neither really fits this months challenge, but i'm looking forward to the next one :)

Correctamundo. Although this is really a big rules thing. More of an exercise to help each other.

Good luck with both your efforts. ;) The Muslin girl was on the news and is a great topic for a song. I sure you will do well with it. I trust we will be able to hear them in the near future? Seeing and hearing everyone else's progress helps to keep my nose to the grinder as well.

OK, I just finished mine, and for some reason I feel as if I've had a bath in a tub full of live squids.
 
I am so there this month - Hong Kong time or Lake Superior time. Is there a Lake Inferior and does it have a complex?

Water is not very complex. You take a couple of hydrogens and an oxygen and for some reason it seems pretty stable. :confused: Many people seem to make a big fuss over it though. :eek:

We want you so badly that anytime tomorrow is fine. Glad to have you in. It looks like we have at least four. Tomorrow I will compile and start an new thread for people to start critiques.
