The not fountain head
Bought this yesterday, as well as the American Gangster Soundtrack...

Really digging 2, 3, 4, 5, 12, 14, 16

More comments may follow..

PRODUCTION IS TOP NOTCH.. Sounds better than Kanye's and Jay's latest, to my ears, clarity-wise...

Yeah Jay's productions were
kinda wishy washy...
Say for example on Number 8 (I know) it was VERY good
opposed to Number 4 (Hello Brooklyn) which sounds like a mixtape cut.

I dug American Gangster but hated track four. Everyone has been talking about this Lil' Wayne cat as though he's some sort of God, but hearing him on that leaves me completely confused. The cat is wack as hell.

uh listen to the carter and you'll understand his hype

he has completely fallen off in the last year though

as for the cool, i don't really like any of the music too much but it does sound really good

yea i wasn't feelin the direction Lupe went wit the Cool maybe i need to listen more and it a grow on my....... as far as jay album hello brooklin was the only track i didnt like but i thought overall the production was crazy nice

Just did. He's much better there than on AG, but still not in the way his fans think of him (G.O.A.T, etc). I will concede then that he's not wack, but he is not a legend either.

yeah i know he's not a legend but he does have some serious skills when he uses them correctly

That's rare. haha Most of his fans that I've met seem to think he's better than Pac/Nas/Big/Jay combined (no lie). Glad to see that some of them are more real than that.

ay

But if someone is your favorite artist shouldn't you feel he is better than everyone else. Wayne is nice that track just sucked him nor Jay could help it.

Not necessarily. Mos Def is my favorite artist because he's a jack of all trades - I'm willing to concede that Nas is a better MC, that other cats are better singers, etc.

I generally like all Lupe's stuff. The lyrical content is bannanas on both albums. I think that Food and Liquor had the best production to me tho. I like the beats on the new album too but not as good as Food an Liquor album. Lupe is so talented yo. You gotta know some stuff to understand what he's saying!!! lol

Oh yea, hello brooklyn is dripping with wack juice! I haven't analyzed the vocals yet because i can't get past the beat. I just can't stand to hear it. I wanna find that acapella and try somethin wit it.

Agreed on the Lupe lyrics.. dang!! he's quick too...

i don't think Brooklyn 2.0 is that bad of a song..

Like Jay said..“that’s the **** I sprinkle the album with to keep the register ringing, in real life I’m way more distinguished, like a bloat from london england”

While I wouldn't take that stance as a rapper.. At least the man's honest bout it...

lol.. How can you hate such a booty clapping beat?...

Check out these Lupe Lyrics... The rhyming is genius... song is "Intruder Alert"

She said that there was no love in her heart
Cuz one day a rapist attacked her and broke
That all apart
She said there was no way to fix it
Or to cover her scars
Then one day a guy came along that
Probly could help her start
He was sincere made her believe it was safe
For her to trust again
Before long she was cool to givin hugs to him
Knew that it was right cuz somethin was wrong
The alarms in her mind didnt tell her he didnt belong

There was no (intruder alert)

[Chorus:]
Intruder [x4]
Alert [x4]

He said nobody else ever loved em (him)
Thats why he get high enough to go touch the heavens above em
Vividly remembers every pipe
Every needle that stuck em
Every alley he ever slept in
Every purse that he snuck in
Every level of hell he's been to
And the one that he's stuck in
The one he cant escape
Even tho it's of his own construction
Maybe you can relate
Maybe you one of those that just doesnt
Maybe he doesnt care
Loves to allow these demons to come in
With no (intruder alert)

[Chorus:]
Intruder [x4]
Alert [x4]

Famine stricken his home
Land and no social standing
In the economic pecking order
Emergency relief
Distribution systems is in disorder
He's checking water making sure
It's safe enough for his
Daughter to float across in
The boat he built
Hopefully strong enough to support
Prayin border patrols
Don't catch her
And process and deport her
Before she reach the shore
Of the land of the free
Where they feed u
Treat u like equals
Decieve you
Stamp u
And call you illegal
And (label you) as an (intruder)

[Chorus:]
Intruder [x4]
Alert [x4]

(Singin')

Is someone here
And it's not me
How could this be
I have my swords
And my army is on my shore
I point my rockets at my sky

I'm so full of pride
I built my wall so high
SOOOOOO WHYYYYYYY OOOO'
YYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Intruder [repeat]

[ends song with repeated intruder]

oh i definitely agree with you dude, most weezy fans are suburban scene kids anyway that have no clue about real hip hop. i always tell them to live the life or shut the fuck up, heh. i'm tired of all those little kids that have never had real beef in their life talking about murking their enemies just because lil wayne says it. it's dumb for real. i had a serious discussion with one of them the other day about weezy vs jay z, and they said jay z doesnt have any skill at all... i just got up and left haha. people are so blind. so fuck it, let em be.

i just got lupe fiasco's The Cool. pure gold. better than all the other mainstream crap that gets put out. haven't heard american gangster yet. hope to check that out soon.

i'm not a big hip hop guy, but i like kanye, jay-z, and of course lupe.

i've been spinning the cool in my car for about a month. the whole CD is just dripping with butter. the lyrical content is unbelievable. and his beats of course are catchy.

good stuff on there. i loved "graduation" by kanye a lot too. more than his other discs.

flashing.... LIGHTS....

Lupe's wordplay is what got me hooked on his music, and the beats they provide for him is TOP NOTCH!!! I mean even the last album Food & Liquor was a classic, i could listen to that CD from start to finish, and fav track on there was The Cool, and Hurt Me Soul,...oh and American Terrorist:D, the new CD is the same but it's some track on there i can't really dig. My fav off the new CD is Streets on Fire, i just like that different ish, that's ish that's fresh for the ears. People grow tired of hearing about how much money one person has, and how many chicks eyeing em in clubs, it's time for that REAL hip hop to make way, and the people are listening again.
