Lots of great improv going on through out this mix. The vocals are a little wet for my taste, but the sound does invoke images of a large hall. It sounds like one of those cool concerts where all the stars gather and do their thing. Drums were a bit crispy, could come up a bit for me. The playing is great though.... The guitars sound similar - are you all using Gibsons, or is it humbuckers that sound that way??? Anyway it's a cool tune guys and gals - I love these collabs.....

Sounds good though. Nice and tight. I can't hear any low end because of my speakers, so I'll just assume that they're fine

Zip, no, it's not you, there's no low end at all... especially on the drums.... Got some phasing problems too, mostly vocal and drum tracks...

I wasn't around for the early parts of this... Randy, you want me to take a shot at a mix/master?

Yanno, who doesn't love a song promoting the opportunities of America sung from the perspective of a slave-trader.

Cool song, but there is NO low-end to it. It would work in some places, but throughout most of the song it feels like something major is missing.

Are you sure you want to do it? There's 20 tracks in total and I may have made a mess of them. You also have to bear in mind that True recorded her vocals with a ton of verb...it's there forever.

Although this latest mix is better than the original mix it could be better, I'm sure. My hearing drops off dramatically at 11 kHz. That's a real problem if there's a mosquito closeby.

Yeah, no low end. The bass tone is pretty decent, and may sit fine as is, but there is nothing to the drums....they need some depth on the snare and kick.
Vocals are ok, but I'd like them a bit drier myself.....and you knew I was gonna say that, didn't ya True.... The backing/ harmony vocals sound pretty good with the wet verb, but I think the main one would sound better a bit more direct.

Fix the depth on the drums, and they should fill the song up nicely.

Well, I don't like the sound of my voice without it.....but hey..I will not use it. Tracey kept on me about that on Losing Control and made me go back and redo without it...well he didn't put a gun to my head or anything...but got the point across...and in the end, it really helped that he finally tracked my vox in HIS studio and had control of the knobs..

Randy..I would like to hear the guit beginning at 4:02 be brought up...at least to the point it matches my vox volume. I just think they need to blend together there as one...rather than my vox be out front in that area.

Llarion...thanks for the tip. I am learning about the reverb and delay and all those neat little effects...how NOT to overdo them...and yes...to cut a dry track. I will see if I still have those tracks that Randy used and take off the verb. If I find them, I'll get them to you without the verb...but I'm tellin' ya, they sound like even shittier without it.

Sorry to be the dissenter but the wet vox do it for me.
My major concern is that the drums seem to be down the corridor and up the stairs - WAY too quiet.
The bass has a very toppy, proggy Rickie edge I'd like to hera that augmented with some derrier'.
Good playing & construction just a matter of bottom end for me.

I agree with the lack of bottom end. Are the drums real? it's hard to tell on the stereo here till I get it up on the monitors in the studio.

Great feeling in the big meaty bassline, True...great vox, you really aspire to the vibe the song has going on in this. I don't mind the wet vocal it suits the song but the rest of the band need to be in their own space.

Cool guitars and I agree with the tone thing they all sound like they fit really well.

Being a pirate at heart, I can totally relate to Losing Control on the ocean. Great work with this song.

I like the heavy reverb on the vocals, it brings out the emotion of the song. And I think True needed to hear the verb to get into the right frame of mind while singing. I think it doesn't match with the rest of the tracks and therefore, doesn't sound like everyone is in the same room. Maybe pull back on vocal verb a little and then add a touch of small room verb on the master buss to pull it all together. I don't know, I'm no expert.
