quick mp3 test of the guitar here

xv700->valve jr combo->es57+nady rsm-5->tascam fw1804-> gateway m285-e running REAPER

sorry for my lackluster guitar skills

I'm impressed with the Guitar Fetish line. Good quality for next to no money.

I have an XV-850 (strat clone) that's fitted with their GFS "Texas Stagger" pickup set. Last weekend an old buddy came over to play, and he brought his mostly original '64 Strat along. At the risk of sounding like a total idiot, I would pick, for sound, the cheap Xaviere over his vintage Stat - hands down. He was actually startled when he heard it. :D

Everything looks good with this.. Trying to figure out if I like the thinline or not.. Hmmm...

Have you taken it to someone that sets up guitars?

yeah a guy i know from my church is a luthier and he checked everything out and pretty much everything was fine and to spec. i havent done the intonation yet, but havent noticed any significant problems with it.

Guitar

Very nice.. What made you go with the slimline???

Does it feel really really light or a nice weight?

How does it compare to other guitars that you have played?

1. i was used to strats and other bodies with belly cuts, and figured it would be nice to have something i was more used to and comfortable with.

2. i'd say its still fairly heavy (about 8 pounds) but its def. lighter than a gibson or epiphone.

3. its by far the nicest guitar i've owned. i'd say it fits in somewhere in between epiphones and lower end gibsons.

if that's how yours sounds, i wonder how the semi-hollows sound. must be so phat.
I think if nothing wows me at long and mcquade when i have the cash i may end up ordering one of those, your pictures are helping too.

I am very close to ordering one too.. Has anyone seen the Agile ones compared to this?

Brought my Xaviere to a gig last night. NOBODY could believe it was a $200 guitar. Everyone that tried it could not believe you could buy something of that high quality for that low of a price. All I can say is "Buy One!"

I have the XV-700 in SilverFlake. I replaced the amber top-hat knobs with black speed knobs, and added a black pickguard, as that model does not come with a pickguard. I've tried to post some pics of it, but it keeps telling me the file size is too big for this site to accept. I love the Les Paul-style with the thinner, light-weight body. I've been leaving my Les Paul home and just taking the XV-700 and a Strat to gigs.

Just a quick shot of my XV-700 with new knobs and homemade pickguard.

i was never a fan of the older, slim waist design of the early xavieres, but she sure is pretty!

edit: but i think those pickups could use a change, the creme is throwing off the black and silver vibe now!
