mondo ass kicking idea t-paul!

it looks like you have guitars pretty well covered but i play a little slide and a pretty awful fiddle that doesn't sound too bad in a mix. =]

shoot me a line if you need any of that.

So long as we don't have problems with the links expiring on us or bandwidth limitations there . . . I have 150GB/month and 7GB of storage and I don't usually even use 5% of that.

I figure I can retrieve everything off Yousendit and store stuff as required.

I think yousendit files have a 30 day shelf-life.

I`m up for anything if there`s till room.
Well exept mixing drumming bass keys and Brass instruments:D

I can do some vox if its needed in a choir or something.

anyways looking forward to hearing this, colabs rawk.

Helpless - Neil Young/Crosby Stills Nash and Young

I Shall Be Released - Bob DYlan & The Band

The Weight - The Band

I'll keep checking back and see when a rough demo of these come through. Are you going to trade off on the verses of the Weight like the Band and the Staples singer do on the movie? I'll do the Mando and Acoustic guitar/Dobro parts and sing some harmony where ever it seems to fit.

Think I'll have to watch the DVD again soon..............

The night they drove ole dixie down. And all the members were singing

Sorry folks, of all the things I can't do well singing is the thing I do worst.
I'll just watch & fetch the occasional silly comment - ta.

I'll sing backing vocals. I'm not to bad at 2nd harmonising as well in places

dagnammit this is getting exciting.....

hmmmmm the mix is gonna be fun & whoever ends up doing will need a hard head & big chin when we all unmercifully pull it to shreds (thus indicating that I am not mixing it in any way):D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I also suggest that people do "the part" rather than giving "the part" with alternatives to the producer to choose. It would make it a simpler task of mixing the track rather than deciding which parts to use before kick off into mixdown

I've always wondered what Southsideglen's mixing would be like???????????

I may just leave the lead stuff to slide

BOING!!!!!!!! so no brian may/wishbone ash/boys are feckin back in town solo extravaganza

NOTE this is becoming a very wordy thread juxtaboingulated in a star searching way

You and at least two other people that I know of....

While we obviously need someone to do a legit mix at the end, I'd say we need someone to rough mixes along the way, so that people only need to send/recieve a stereo backing track to play their part along to. I guess I just don't want to have to DL 45 tracks just so I can have something to play along to. A poorly mixed stereo mixdown track would be much prefered.

That may have been addressed. Sorry if I missed it. This will be pretty fun. andyhix at yahoo dot com. Let me know when it's my turn.

So we need a volunteer for lead vocals, can you guys please nominate yourselves again?

If we are starting with "Helpless", I will take the first crack at lead vocal, if just for the scratch track. Then we'll have a quick guitar/bass/vocal mix.

I figure pretty much everybody will need to kick in BG vocals, especially on that chorus.

Anybody and everybody can mix the thing; I still plan on hosting all the tracks in addition to yousendit or wherever, so anybody that feels like mixing, email for the link.

Okay, I'm in, but I aint using no fucking brushes!
Hey...this dude used brushes ...and he made it to the top, of what was once the tallest building in the world....:D:eek::D

Sure, get him to post here!!!!!

I'd love to help out, but I don't know what I'd be able to cover that's not already taken care of.

Hey, since the theme here is The Last Waltz, I thought I'd post these here. The recording is absoulte crap because I was just using my little video camera as a field recorder set off to one side of the stage. This is from our first "practice gig" (ie. cheap craphole dive where we are woodshedding) so there are a couple trainwrecks I caused here and there

Anyway, I'm singing lead on "The Weight" and backups on Ophelia and Cripple Creek. Just thought these might help the producer get an idea or two...

Ophelia

Cripple Creek

The Weight
