how's about an updated list of players TP??

Drums - Greg L
Vocals - Gtrman
Backing Vox - andyhix Snakeyes nakatira Anfontan Slidey
Acoustic x 2 - TelePaul anyone else?
Electric x 2 - slidey
Mandolin - Anfontan

Synths/Organ -
Keys -
Strings/fidlle - castlerocks
Wind/Harmonica - andyhix
Percussion/hand instruments - mshilarious, andyhix

We've enough to get a rough backing track together. I'd like to get another rhythm player, Anfontan may volunteer for acoustic duties.

Then we need vocalists - alot of them.

Would it help if I wore a corduroy jacket with suede elbow patches? :D

Now that's funny. Hey, I'd be interested in getting in on this action, by the way. The trouble is I suck at everything. At least I suck more than everyone else that's already participating.

Things I play poorly:
Electric Guitar
Acoustic Guitar (I recently set up my guitar for lap steel, but I have ZERO experience with it. Still, it might be fun to try).
Harmonica
Triangle (seriously)
Sleighbells
I recently got a crappy Djembe. (I've just started figuring out how to play it, and have not yet figured out how to record it well. Nothing way too much reverb can't fix, though. :D)
Renaissance Flute (I started collecting these years ago, and probably have 6 different keys. I haven't touched one in probably 2 years, though)

Oh, I like to think I could sing harmony vocals for certain stuff. It's debatable though...

I think that's my full resume.

I've updated the list, see what you think.

Sweet. I'll keep an eye on this thread. I've been looking forward to working on something different. I've been buried by the same few songs for months now. I'm gonna rock ass on that triangle!

Star Search what now?

A modulation to the II, especially without transition, is colloquially known as a "Star Search" modulation, after its frequent use in pop songs to "lift" a final chorus. It's kinda cheesy for a depressing Neil Young tune, that's for sure :p

It is ill regarded in music theory because the II would normally be a ii (minor), so when you see a II, it's usually as a II7 in a secondary dominant motion to a final modulation to the V (which may again be a V7 for an extra-strong cadence to the I).

Anyway. Please don't list me as keyboards, I might add a fill or two, but especially for the Band tunes, we need a real keyboard player. At least if I do piano, somebody will have to do organ.

Hey! I have sleigh bells too! How about if we slip "Airbag" between "Helpless" and "The Weight" :D

Okay. I just thought a transition from one song to the other would work better by way of a key change but I guess we could have a breakdown of sorts there instead.

This is a pretty cool concept. We used to play all three of these tunes in my old band, way back when.

Good call on the sleighbells in Airbag. I'm always impressed when they are used and the result isn't "Christmasy." Certainly that's a great example. That would be quite the juxtaposition!

Sleighbell solo? OK, I'll shut up now...

hey, that sounds cool. The group I just joined is doing "The Weight" ,"Ophelia" and "Up on Cripple Creek" so I'm pretty familiar with those 3. Let me know if I can help with anything....

Wanna join Slidey on lead guitar duties?

sure, I'll give it a shot. I'm playing most of the rhythm stuff in the new group so I may just leave the lead stuff to slidey and slide some rhythm parts in there. I can do vocals too, lead or backing....whatever you need
