ok good answer.

on another note, how long does it take before i am no longer a newbie on this site? meaning, when will my signature appear?

that is all again, thanks again.

An understandable mistake. Actually, the experts in this particular field hang out in the Microphone Forum. They are the only people on the BBS that understand the overly complicated Reputation Point system, but they can make it easy to understand.

Another great question, just in the wrong forum. Post it in the Mic Forum, they'll be glad to help! Tell 'em ez_willis referred you. It'll increase your rep points and you'll be able to change that Newbie signature immediately.

As indicated rep points mean nothing - the people on this site who are knowledgable and share that knowledge in a kind and helpful manner are recognized and respected - that is the true measure of a reputation.

On the other hand, some people (who I have yet to see post anything of value) appear to have a billion rep points - since I look at the rep points as a meaningless system, I've never bothered to learn how the system works.

Regarding being a newbie - the number of posts appears to change one's status. Again a relatively meaningless measurement - since some people have hundreds, perhaps thousands of post, yet they contribute nothing of real value.

However, there are very many people on this site who are knowledable and helpful - (and who pick and choose when then feel they can contribute) and I for one am honored to share a community with those people.

I will only suggest one key thing to you (being a newlie). Always use the search function before asking questions. There is a wealth of information available on this site and most questions have been answered (often more than once). There are few things that frustrate some of the longer term members than seeing the same questions asked over & over.

Welcome to the site - I think it is a great community to share knowledge with (well....at least some of the community:D)

Or, you can just post your question, and not give a crap about the snobs that get irritated by the same question being asked again. (see above post for meaning of snob:roll eyes:)

Then there are those that have a little sand in their vagina.

None of this would be happening if you'd just post this in the Mic Forum.

People can flag your posts with positive or negative rep points. There's some system that results in you having very few/many green/red blocks next to your posts.

For the most part, you'll be able to pick out who has helpful information regardless of their rep. (They'll be the ones who give you helpful information.)

One's 'Rep Power' score is directly proportional to the skill set and knowledge of the user in relation to 'sand in their vagina', as was alluded to some posts prior.
Thankyou.

Should I have posted in here...?

0oooops..I thought this was the mic forum...sorry.

You can cash them in for beer in The Cave. They don't mean anything out here...just in The Cave.
