something is wrong with my guitar, it is a Gibson Les Paul Faded Special, and when I run it through my half-stack, sometimes I get a crackling noise, sometimes I don't, but I do get some hiss (kinda sounds like one of those bug zapper things) anyways, i dont know if it is the pickups or if i need to get it rewired, anybody got any idea whats going on? i know its not the amp because 1. its new and 2. my epiphone doesnt make any noise if i do the same thing

thanks

I agree that the cable is the best place to look first. After that I would open the control panel and see if there is a good ground to the electronics-usually all the volume and tone control cans will be wired together for a common ground, and the 3rd pin on the volume pots will be grounded to the can itself.
Also, check the guitars output jack to be sure its not loose-that the nut is holding it tightly-that would cause the problem you are describing-intermittent connections. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a loose wire at the output jack. You'll need to replace the guitar.

ok if you guys can see from these pictures let me know if things look right...

Ah! New feature on the recently upgraded board. My bad. Sorry.

I removed the spaces and pasted the link and it still wouldn't load.

PM me the address.

Are you close to a CRT, TV neon sign? Does this happen everywhere or just in certain rooms?

no problem, i sent you the link in a message, let me know if that works...

and i know its not something that is around me in the room because its in the same chair in the same situation and these noises do not happen with my epiphone but they do happen with my gibson

To confirm that it is in fact the guitar, do you have another amp to plug into?

It's more than likely a loose wire at the output jack, but I still can't open the link.

Have you removed the cover plate to inspect the wiring?

yes i have, that is what is in the pictures.. possibly i could e-mail them to you?

and at the moment i do not have another amp to plug into, however, i have other guitars that i have plugged into this amp and it is only the gibson that has this problem
