Yeah I don't mind the pre-amps but things can sound sort of dull. I recommed getting an inexpensive analog mic-preamp such as the Blue Tube, or Joe Meek, or the Art ones.

I was thinking about getting a Tascam 788 digital recorder. Would this work= track 1 - SD track 2 - BD track 3 +4 - overheads, L and R all this bounced in stereo to stereo track 7/8 on the tascam. Would this work and would it sound just as good as when they were three seperate tracks...
