Hello Seventh ... I listened to your song ..


it is very hard to hear .. and very repetitive ....

sorry I really did not like it ...

The recording quality is not good at all. What did you use to record? How did you track?

I'm no audio expert, but I will share what I do know if you provide some info as requested above.

the song is only a muck around song and other songs are completely different to that. we came up with it in about 3 minutes!

our recording setup was pretty dodgy. I used my Pioneer X-P170C Stereo with 2 Leem Microphones! We relized the quality wouldnt be very good. I have Cakewalk Guitar Tracks 2.0 which we usually to record but my computer wasnt working at the time so we just grabbed my stereo.

Get that PC up and running. Are you planning on buying any gear? If yes, you'll need a couple of decent mikes (sm 57's perhaps) and at least one pre (recording simultaneous sources? - if so, you may want to consider a mixer - Mackie or something). That's only the bare bone basics - but it would be a start. Maybe a direct box if you're not miking everything. Use a drum machine or loop software (don't know if you have access to a human drummer - or play drums yourself - but many of us have no choice but to go "artificial" - if you use real drums, then you'll have to address how many mic's you'll want to use (you can probably get away with three or four). Factor all of this into the decision of how many channells you'll need on a mixer, as well as the number of in's you wish to have on your soundcard (don't know what your PC has now - likely one stereo in which can be split (or at least in ntrack it can be split to accomodate two sources).

Again, this is basic stuff - there are hundreds of heads in here that know a lot more than I do. If you already know this stuff, then pretend I didn't type it.
