You can thank me later...

Hendrix was a drug addict and a hack. The only feeling he had was "high". I just don't understand why people think that he was so great. There is such a thing as playing with dynamics, feeling, and precision. It's called "talent". If I want precision I'll watch Rush, Yes, Supertramp or any of the other bands that don't make up shit as they go along.

I've seen two Rush shows in my life. I would never bother with a third, as they were exactly the same fucking show. BORING. Well, the first one was great, but the second one was a waste. Particularly disappointing as I know those guys CAN improvise, and if they were to try they could put on a really great show!

Hahaha. Too funny. I agree the 3 bands you listed major in precision. It also accounts for why they are amongst the most dull and lifeless bands ever to make music.

Drugs? Evil shit man. When I see a junkie, I try to beat him to death with my bible.

Rock on man!!

HEY, Rush and Yes have both put out some really good stuff.

Supertramp, on the other hand...

Maybe they were doing a lot of drugs in the second show.

No, they weren't playing BAD. The problem is it was EXACTLY THE SAME SHOW, which I had seen like 3 years earlier! I mean shit, doesn't that get boring FOR THEM. It sure got boring for me.

Shit, they basically had the same fucking stage/light show.

Sorry mate,
I was taking the piss out the Hendrix drug reference but I know what you're saying about repetitive shows. I think it gets to that point for bands when it just becomes a bit of an earner and nothing more.

I was going to write a bunch of other shit, but then I decided not to feed the idiot troll.

You were the one trolling by using the title "you can thank me later" as if your musical tastes rein supreme over everyone else's. I believe that Jeff Beck is a talented guitarist but his music is boring. I was stating my opinion which we are all entitled to do. That makes me an individual not a troll.

So I guess that you would never watch a movie or eat the same food more than once because it would be boring and predictable. Obviously your musical tastes are polar opposite to mine.

I'm no bible thumper I don't even attend church but drugs kill good people. Look what happened to Hendrix and many other musicians. Go ahead and laugh it up but I don't see anything funny about that.

25 posts and noone mentioned how GREAT Vinnie is?!?! :p

He´s just a fucking alien... Tal is great too; not in the same league than Vinnie tough (but that´s goes for almost any other living musician too...)

Improvisation is just a smoke screen used by people that can't or are too lazy to perform with precision. How can you tell if they suck or not when there is no frame of reference. He could screw up all night long and then just say "I meant it to sound that way". Improvisation = Hack Job

Bullshit. If you are jamming and you get it wrong it sounds like shit. Missed notes, wrong key, out of sync. When you get it right it is awesome. It takes a hell of a lot of talent to improvise with a group of musicians.

It takes SOME talent to improvise - and a hell of a lot of PRACTICE.

Actually, it can go either way, but practice is at least as important as talent.
