OK, here’s what happened. I was recording last night and I was getting some snap crackle & pop on the track I was recording through my new my new Delta 1010lt (installed about a week ago). This crackling has been happening sporadically on and off. I remember reading something here about certain network adapters causing problems like this with Detla cards so disabled my Ethernet card & continue recording right? Crackle went away for awhile then came back. So I am surmising that this is not the problem. In fact I am suspecting either my AudioBuddy, Mic, or cable (guess I should have checked the cable first ). So far, no problems.
Then when I am done recording I go back to enable the network card again and my machine hangs up. I reboot a couple times but can’t get it to work. Then I decide to uninstall the driver and reboot (which should detect new hardware and reinstall the driver if I’m not mistaken). This is where the fun begins. I go to reboot and I get to where the Windows drivers are loading and at a certain point my machine just reboots itself. I stepped through the drivers loading and determined that a certain driver was trying to load before the machine would reboot. The name was something like vwmxd2d.vmd or something like that. I have it written down in the car but I have to run to the dentist so I’ll check it and make sure I typed it correctly above.
I am running 98se. Any ideas? I really need to get this up and running ASAP.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
