Hi !

I am working on this track, still need the vocalist to sing a couple of lines here and there.. .. still need to work on some fills and breaks...

But... CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ?

Thanx for any comments... (i have to learn a lot!)

the music is HERE!

I couldn't open your song. Why post it as a zip file? What was supposed to be inside it. I downloaded the zip, but then when I opened it there was nothing inside the zip file and WinZip could see.

Any suggestion as to make it better ?

I would be VERY grateful if you could criticise it a bit.. :D

this is a good start. I find the groove nice, but at the same time a tad repetative....and I can understand that some vocals on top of this is what is probably needed. This would make GREAT dance music on its own, but lacks a bit musically just to be a "listener". HOWEVER>..and a big However....this tune takes off in a completely positive direction when the pno soloing comes in. INCREDIBLY MUCH BETTER....at least in my book. Really tastefull soloing, and the tune becomes much more interesting musically. Great chops....(but remember, the TWO CHORD change keeps this 'dance music' which I acknowledge you stated...but it has the potential to be MUCH more, imo).

I like this very much.....and I'll be eager to hear how you finish it off. (I'd love to put a killer lead gtr on this too)

the mix sounds good so far, EQ wise, etc.... a little sloppy on the ending....

I like it, a little bit like daft punk with more depth musically.
What do you use for the synth sounds on this style music, i've wanted to try, but could never figure it out.

First of all : thanx to you all (mixmkr you really make me want to go on with my work... THANX A LOT !!).

Secondly : I use a Yamaha CS6R for some of the "dance" sounds, a bit tweaked here and there...

And a Roland xv-3080 that has nearly everything else I need (including the piano).

I am going to use a soft sampler soon, maybe in this song, and I am using Logic Audio... I guess the best solution would be to use EXS24...

ANy idea ?

It definetly has a groove to it.If it was a wave you could ride it.:DIt just seems to lack low end.Gotta have that low end in a dance track right?A Dance track need to pulsate through your body, and this is just a tad to thin to do that. The mucisianship is great. If it had some low end on the kick sample and lower key synths it would be ready for the turntable!Sounds good.;-)

I guess this low end problem (even with the bossa nova I posted...) is due to improper monitoring...

I have consumer speakers on my mixer... and they tend to "colour" the sound a bit too much...

I need something a bit more precise than that on mixdown I guess...

Anybody buy me a couple of KRK ?? :D :D
