I am considering a second hand module. A Yam TG77 or a Korg Wavestation AD or SR? Which is the better synth and why? What type of music do they cater to? I'm into ambient/electronic stuff. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thxs.

I have all three synths you are asking about, and it's a tough call. Between the two Wavestations, the only reason to get the AD is if you want to use the inputs on it and process other sounds through the Wavestation. Otherwise, I prefer the SR version, which is the last version of the Wavestation Korg made.

Between the TG77 and Wavestation, it really depends on what sounds you need. The TG77 can do the really wild FM synth type sounds, but obviously not the waves sequencing that the Wavestation can do.

For me personally, If I had to keep one of these synths, it would be the Wavestation SR.

Thanks. I am familiar with FM synthesis (I have a TX7) but have never worked with any Wavestation synth (I do have an Ensoniq SQ which is structuraly similar, no?) so I don't really know what it's capable of.
Anyways, good points. Thanks!!!
