What's this button do?
I bought this at a local used store. I didn't really use it before the refund time ran out, and now It isn't doing me much good. Here's the signal chain I was using...
SM58
RM804
Ch. 1 of seperate Yamaha powered mixer (I didn't have an amp, OK?)
Live speakers
Some sound was evident, but even at high volume or gain, anything.... all I got was a really distorted sound, very low volume, and a definate hum. One note is that the back of this mixer has the 8 ch. of RCA, and they have a bridge from onme to the other on each channel (I do not understand this, but it is almost certainly factory) and one of the sets has been replaced by a normal rca jumper instead of the little U-shaped metal piece that sits in the others. I have taken this out and tried everything again, but nothing has changed. I haven't ever dealt with older mixers before, let alone recording consoles, so treat me like an idiot if you have to
Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete
