Ok so I have a Yamaha P105 and I love it, but I just tried to connect to my computer with some MIDI cables, and, gasp, no MIDI hookups. I know exactly nothing about MIDI or digital recording (I'm more of a mic-in-front-of-an-amp guy) but I did want to start using my keyboard to orchestrate my recordings (add piano, drums and percussion mostly, but also maybe a bit of strings/horns etc). Can I do this with my yamaha? Again, it doesn't have MIDI hookups, but it does have a USB-to-host hookup and a AUX-out. What are my options?
It would be going into an M-audio fastrak ultra, into a mac computer and protools 9.
