Yamaha AW16G and monitors

I have mackie monitors. I dunno if I should plug them into the computer, because I have cheap soundcard, or just keep them plugged into the AW16G and just do most of my mixing there. I have a few plugins like vintage warmer. do you think good monitoring is really needed for that? thanks

Take the output of your soundcard and run it through the AW16. Then you can monitor everything.
